The location and the staff!
Great pool area. Room nice but mattress was hard and shower door was hard to pull open/close. I like this hotel but the pier kind of ruins it. Must get the breakfast and Blueberry Muffins best I’ve had.

Top Tips
- Secure beachfront accommodations 6-12 months in advance for peak summer (June-August) to avoid 20-30% rate increases. Major hotel chains in Orange Beach fill up quickly in this period, so early booking maximizes your choice of room types, including accessible and family-friendly options.
- Alabama applies a 13.5% total lodging tax covering state, county, and local surcharges, which is higher than some neighboring states. Confirm whether this is itemized in your booking summary, especially with national hotel brands, to avoid budgeting surprises.
- For stays of 4 or more guests or multiple nights, explore condominium-style suites or extended-stay hotels, which typically provide full kitchens and in-unit laundry. This can offer 15-25% savings over standard room blocks and allows for in-room meal prep, ideal for families or groups.
- Many Orange Beach resorts and larger hotels add daily resort or amenity fees ($15-50) for services like Wi-Fi or pool use. Confirm if these charges are included in your quote and request an itemized breakdown at check-in, especially if planning to use onsite amenities.
- Expect rates 10-15% higher for rooms with direct access or within a 0.5-mile walk of Gulf State Park beaches and trails. Compare proximity in map view before booking to balance savings with easy access to protected shorelines and recreation.
- Visiting December to February (excluding major holidays) typically brings 30-50% lower nightly rates, with daytime temperatures averaging 55-65°F (13-18°C). This quieter period is suited for guests seeking mild weather and less-crowded hotels.
- Bayfront hotel rooms offer scenic views but require a 5-10 minute walk across Perdido Beach Boulevard to reach the Gulf shore. Review route accessibility, including sidewalks, signals, and accessible crossings, if traveling with children or guests needing step-free access.
- Plan 4-6 months ahead for March stays as Spring Break drives up prices and occupancy. National and local hotel chains often implement minimum night policies during this period, so verify restrictions before finalizing your reservation.
