The staff was the only good thing about this hotel
There was Starbucks in it
This Hotel is very nice, very clean. Only one way in and one way out. A little challenging if you miss the turn into the property. No free breakfast, but you can visit a lovely Starbucks in the lobby.

It was nice and clean
The staff were great. Our room had mold. I was told I would receive a partial refund since no rooms were available. I have called since April 1st to only receive a run around and be told to wait for a manager to call me back. The manager is always out.
The hotel is very well maintained and clean. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere of the hotel was very pleasant.

Top Tips
- Expect a 6% Texas state hotel occupancy tax plus up to 7% in local city and county taxes; total tax rates often reach 13% in Lufkin. Review the itemized tax breakdown during booking to compare final rates. If traveling on government or tax-exempt business, confirm required documentation for waiver.
- Most major hotels—including Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Inn, and Holiday Inn Express—are located along US-59/Loop-287. This area gives direct access to chain dining, grocery stores, and pharmacies within 0.5-2 miles. Stay here to limit drives to downtown or hospitals to under 10 minutes.
- During the Texas State Forest Festival (usually mid-October), hotel occupancy and rates increase, and Friday and Saturday bookings see the highest surges. Reserve accommodations 2-4 weeks before arrival, and check for flexible cancellation terms, as some hotels adjust policies during local events.
- Most travel in Lufkin requires a car. Major rental agencies like Enterprise and Hertz operate locally; public transit is limited and ride-hailing (Uber, Lyft) may be unavailable at peak times. Ask if your hotel offers a shuttle or has partnerships with accessible taxi services, especially if you need door-to-door assistance.
- Severe weather in East Texas (May-September) can cause power outages. Mid- to upper-tier hotels in Lufkin may have generator or AC backup, which is essential for guests needing medical device power. Before arrival, ask about written outage procedures or on-site backup details to ensure your room stays comfortable and safe.
- Angelina County Airport (LFK) only supports private and general aviation; no commercial passenger flights operate here. For scheduled flights, use Houston Bush Intercontinental (110 miles, about 2 hours by car) or Tyler Pounds Regional (75 miles, about 1.5 hours). Plan for extra travel time and confirm one-way rental car options if flying out.
