Ease of checking in
Excellent hotel and stay, but different, and not in a bad way. All interaction is online. No staff in lobby. You get your key like you live there. I associate hotels with service & hospitality, but here, I was self-sufficient & owned the apartment. Nice
The room was ok and clean. The missing coffee maker was brought after I complained through the app (although packaged and I had to set it up). The location was very convenient.

Cleanliness
Great location with a captivating view of Cambridge and Boston. The room was clean and comfortable. Some nice touches like an automatic night light in the toe kick of the bathroom vanity to give you a nice, gentle light for those nighttime bathroom trips.

Location. Convenient to dining options in East Cambridge and to bus and subway transit.
The location was good for us, because of the proximity to our son's house. Otherwise, I would not pick this location.

It was beautiful and very comfortable!!
The staff were exceptional, beginning with the desk, to all service staff employees. Each went above and beyond. The wine social was lovely, and a nice gesture, overlooked by most hotels.
The hipster vibe and high-end feel. I feared it might be in a less desirable/bad neighborhood because of the low price but didn't get that sense. Was nicely sound-proofed with good blackout curtains. The room was a bargain compared to others.

I liked the location being so close to Harvard. The room was great and fell a notch above what I was expecting.
The bedding (down comforter, great pillows), and the air quality/climate control were outstanding. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed, and the bed was actually more comfortable than my bed and home (and I'm fussy). The pool was excellent.
Room service very fast, and extremely polite room service staff. Beleaguered front desk staff dealing with irate guests kept their patience. They need more support from mgmt. Restaurant is good; really good coffee in lobby in early a.m.

The breakfast was good, the convenience of taking the train and buses were great. The lady at the front desk was very very welcoming to an out of towner. I appreciated her more than anything.
It is located right next to the Lechmere Mbta station. So easy to get around from here. I also have to give a shoutout to the breakfast cooks and the maple smoked sausage slices! Yum!

Top Tips
- Book 45-90 days before major Cambridge events like Harvard and MIT commencements (late May-June) or the Head of the Charles Regatta (third weekend in October), as hotel rates rise sharply and rooms fill quickly around those dates. Non-refundable rates may offer extra savings during event dates, but if sold out, join hotel waitlists as last-minute availability often appears in university towns.
- Select Kendall Square hotels for biotech or tech meetings, with most venues adjacent to MIT. Harvard Square hotels are ideal for campus visits, with Harvard Yard a 3-7 minute walk from the square. Both neighborhoods are walkable with step-free access, but always confirm accessible room or adaptive amenity availability before booking.
- Compare on-site hotel parking costs with Cambridge municipal lots and ParkBoston permits, as hotel fees often exceed $15 per night. Many hotels validate for nearby garages, potentially saving 20-40% versus valet rates. Use hotel websites or apps to check real-time parking and accessible spot availability.
- Take the MBTA Red Line from Harvard, Central, or Kendall stations to reach downtown Boston (Park Street) in under 15 minutes off-peak, usually faster and cheaper than driving in rush hour. All Red Line stations have elevators and clear signage for step-free access; MBTA trip-planning apps provide real-time updates and accessible route info.
- Chain hotels near Kendall and CambridgeSide often provide 24-hour fitness centers, on-site breakfast, and loyalty perks. Many independent inns in Harvard Square don't participate in major loyalty programs or guarantee high-performance wired/wireless internet. To maximize benefits, check for available upgrades or late checkout if you have status.
- For reliable video calls, request a recent speed test or confirmation of a wired Ethernet room before booking. Several Kendall-area hotels have business centers and meeting rooms with high-speed networks; you may also request an accessible, quiet workspace if needed for virtual conferences.
- Protect your bicycle with a U-lock on both the frame and wheels, and register it with Cambridge Police, as bike theft is common near transit hubs and Harvard Square. Some hotels offer secure indoor bike storage or rental options on request, and local regulations require white front and red rear lights for cycling after dark.
- For late-night quiet, choose hotels on the Harvard Square periphery (Brattle or Broadway streets) or in Kendall; Central Square is home to live-music bars and nightlife past midnight. Guests with noise or sensory sensitivities should request a higher floor or room away from elevators and street-facing windows, and ask if earplugs or white noise machines are available.
