The staff was extremely helpful. Although most of them did not speak English, there was always at least one person who did and was knowledgeable. The airport bus had a stop just round the corner and the staff escorted me there when I was leaving.

Top Tips
- Hotels in Plano Piloto (Asa Norte, Asa Sul, Sudoeste) keep main government and business districts within a 5-15 minute taxi or Uber ride. Book in these neighborhoods to minimize transit times and avoid traffic bottlenecks during peak hours.
- Brasília International Airport (BSB) to Plano Piloto hotels typically takes 15-25 minutes by app-based ride or taxi. Use designated airport pick-up points to streamline your arrival and limit fare discrepancies.
- Book hotels 30-60 days in advance around national holidays or government events, as central accommodations fill quickly due to high delegation demand. Confirm reservation flexibility if your plans may change.
- Select properties offering in-room safes and 24-hour staffed reception. While central Brasília is generally safe, petty theft can occur, so secure valuables in your room safe and avoid displaying electronics in public areas.
- Pay using Brazilian real (BRL) for the most favorable rates and decline Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC), which adds a 2-6% surcharge. ATM withdrawals usually incur R$6-12 in fees per transaction.
- Hotel restaurant bills often include a 10% service charge; if not, leave a 5-10% tip. Porters and concierge appreciate R$5-20 per service (approx. $1-$4 USD). Carry small bills for tipping convenience.
- Onsite breakfast at midrange hotels is typically R$25-70 per person (approx. $5-$15 USD) when not included in your rate. Check breakfast hours, as early service (from 6:00-10:00 am) is common in Brasília for business travelers.
- Sudoeste and Lago Sul neighborhoods offer quieter hotel options with stable Wi-Fi. These districts experience less daytime activity from government delegations, which may benefit remote workers.
- For guests needing step-free access, request accessible rooms directly with your hotel and ask for written confirmation. Although Brazilian law mandates accessibility, actual room features may vary by property.
- Reserve tables 1-2 days ahead for Pontão do Lago Sul’s waterfront restaurants, located 5-15 minutes by car from central hotels. Evening and sunset slots fill quickly, especially on weekends.
- Verify final booking costs include all required taxes, service fees, and city surcharges before payment. Review the total breakdown to avoid unexpected charges at check-in.
