This is supposed to be a 4 Star Hotel. It should not be more than 2 stars. Only nice area was lobby and dining room.
When I complained about the noise right outside my window and asked for another room, the receptionist (a female) accommodated my request for another room. Was on a long international flight and was not able to sleep due to the loud music.
location at the old town is excellent

One of the best hotel that I have experienced so far
Food was good and it seemed like a good value. Neighborhood was quiet. Great view of the Parliament building. Classic style, heavy velvet drapes but very warm. Bed was super comfortable! About 25 minutes from airport.

Top Tips
- Book your hotel 6 to 8 weeks in advance for potential savings of up to 30% compared to last-minute rates, especially during off-peak seasons. Compare rates across multiple booking platforms to secure the most competitive price.
- Choose hotels in the 1st or 4th districts for a balance of affordability and proximity. The 1st district averages $87 to $130 USD (approx. €80 to €120) per night, while the 4th district averages $54 to $98 USD (approx. €50 to €90). Consider your priority between central location and cost before booking.
- Pay in Romanian Leu (RON) at checkout to avoid Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) fees, which can add 3% to 5% to your total cost. Confirm the payment currency with hotel staff before authorizing your card.
- Confirm whether the approximately 1% local tax is included in your room rate at the time of reservation to avoid unexpected charges at checkout.
- Use the express Bus 783 from Henri Coandă International Airport to the city center, which costs about $0.65 USD (3 RON) and takes around 30 minutes. This option is significantly less expensive than a taxi, which typically costs $6.50 to $8.70 USD (30 to 40 RON).
- Leverage hotel loyalty programs in Bucharest like Hilton Honors or Marriott Bonvoy to earn up to 20% in additional rewards. These can often be combined with credit card benefits for extra value.
- Visit during the shoulder seasons of April to May or September to October for hotel rates that are usually 20% to 30% lower than peak summer prices. Fewer crowds also mean better room availability.
- Request step-free or accessible rooms in advance if needed, as about 50% of older buildings in Bucharest may not have elevators. Confirm accessible restroom availability or visual alarms directly with your hotel.
- Utilize hotel coworking spaces for reliable Wi-Fi, which typically ranges from 20 to 50 Mbps and supports remote work. Check if advance booking is required for coworking access.
- Be cautious of unlicensed taxis near tourist areas, as they may charge 2 to 3 times the standard fare. For consistency and safety, use official services like Uber, Bolt, or designated taxi stands.
- Check for major events or festivals, such as the George Enescu Festival in September, as hotel prices can surge by up to 50% during these periods. Review the city events calendar before making a reservation.
- Maximize value by using hotel amenities like free breakfast, fitness centers, or shuttle services, which can save $15 to $30 USD (approx. €14 to €28) per day. Confirm which amenities are included in your room rate.
- Opt for eco-friendly hotels with local certifications such as Hotel Cismigiu or Hotel Capitol, which support sustainable tourism practices. Ask reception for verification of current eco-certifications.
- Central Bucharest can experience air pollution, especially in winter months. Consider hotels with proper air filtration systems or air purifiers for a healthier stay, particularly if you have respiratory sensitivities.
- For personal safety, stay in well-lit and populated areas, especially at night, as crime rates can vary by neighborhood. Most central hotels offer 24-hour security for guest peace of mind.
- Use local SIM cards from providers like Digi or Orange for reliable connectivity, with affordable data plans costing about $5.40 USD (approx. €5) for 10GB. Purchase requires photo identification.
- Verify health and hygiene standards by checking recent hotel reviews and certifications, as approximately 20% of older properties may have outdated practices. Look for posted certifications or ask at reception for details.
- Leverage the hotel concierge for recommendations on local attractions, dining, or lesser-known spots. About 80% of travelers find concierge suggestions useful; request a printed map or itinerary for added value.
