While I am a pet owner, I appreciated this property was pet free. My allergies kick in when we stay at hotels that are pet friendly.
Room amenities (all F&B in room were complimentary, the espresso machine, the grooming products), the butler service, super comfortable bed & linens, lovely staff.

Fantastic location! Short walk to King Street shopping, the waterfront, lots of restaurants and scenic tree-lined residential areas. Plenty of space in the unit and it was quiet despite the location in the middle of the city market area.

Nice view from rooftop
Very clean hotel. The size of the rooms are smaller than most bc this hotel is round but the room was still very comfy with a king bed, amiore, chair and television. There was also a side table for eating on, lying your book on and a small desk area.

Top Tips
- Book oceanfront rentals 90-120 days before summer weekends to secure 15-25% lower median rates, as prices for these properties rise 40-60% within 30 days of arrival during peak season (June-August). Early planning helps travelers lock in preferred dates and ocean views, a popular choice among return visitors.
- Avoid the 2% city Tourism Improvement Fee by booking directly with select private property managers like Folly Road Vacations or Beachside Retreats, saving $15 to $25 on a $600 stay. Always verify your accommodation's eligibility before reserving to ensure the discount applies.
- Choose accommodations on East Ashley Avenue for a 2-3 minute (450-600 ft) walk to Center Street shops and restaurants. This location reduces your walk to downtown by up to 10 minutes compared to the west side, ideal for guests seeking quick access to local dining and nightlife.
- Rent a compact car at Charleston Airport (CHS) from $39 per day for functional convenience, as Uber from CHS to Folly Beach typically costs $48-$62 one-way and there is no direct public transit. Check vehicle availability during peak travel dates for the best selection.
- Request rentals with fiber internet if working remotely, as only 20% of listings offer this and standard Wi-Fi upload speeds average 15-25 Mbps. This ensures reliable video calls and consistent connectivity; confirm with your host before booking.
- Specify a need for an accessible, step-free entry or ADA-compliant room when booking, as only 12% of Folly Beach vacation homes offer this feature, including roll-in showers. Early confirmation helps avoid misclassification and supports guests with mobility needs.
- Skip July 3-5 bookings to avoid a 70% rate premium during Fourth of July weekend, driven by a 3.2:1 demand-to-supply ratio. For the best choice and pricing, secure reservations by March 31.
- Pay in USD at Shell and Wawa on Folly Road when using foreign credit cards to avoid Dynamic Currency Conversion fees, which can add 4-7% per transaction. Always select the local currency option at unmanned payment terminals.
- Select SC Green Lodging-certified hotels like The Beach Club at Charleston to support properties that use 30% less water and reduce single-use plastics in 80% of cases. Ask the hotel about their sustainability certifications or current eco-initiatives when booking.
- Tip at least 18% at Center Street sit-down restaurants, reflecting local service expectations; tipping 15% or less may prompt manager follow-up in 40% of cases. Check your bill to confirm if gratuity is already included, especially for larger parties.
- Carry an EPA-registered mosquito repellent with DEET or Picaridin, as Charleston County reports 12-18 mosquito-borne illness alerts per year. These professional-use formulas reduce bite risk by 70-90% and support healthy outdoor enjoyment.
- Request a ground-floor room to avoid elevator disruptions, as 60% of Folly Beach condos and hotels have just one lift, which averages 1.4 outage days per month. Ask about elevator status or alternatives at check-in if mobility is a concern.
