Excellent staff
The best thing about Hamersons is that it is close to some great hotels which makes things easy when you decide to leave and stay in a bright clean room with friendly staff.

The staff are excellent, they really go out of their way to make you comfortable.
Walking distance to SM City mall.
The staff was very friendly. The check-in clerk cooperative and helpful. It was across the street from a mini-mall (restaurants, 7-Eleven, drug store, laundromat). 5 minutes walking from a Catholic Church, 20-30 minutes walking distance from 2 malls.

I like how breakfast is included and the price of the rooms is just what within our budget. The security guard and some of the staff went a long way to get a taxi to where we needed to go.

Top Tips
- Book 6-12 weeks in advance for Sinulog Festival (third Sunday of January) to minimize price spikes, as hotel rates can rise by 25% or more and rooms often sell out during this period. Leverage free cancellation options at select hotels for flexibility if plans change.
- Factor in 12% VAT and up to a 10% service charge, which together can add up to 22% to your final bill in Cebu hotels. Confirm all taxes and fees before booking to avoid surprises at check-out.
- Choose to pay in Philippine Pesos (PHP) rather than your home currency when using your card, as Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) often adds 2-5% in extra fees. Request billing in PHP at point of sale to keep costs down.
- Select hotels in IT Park (Lahug) or Cebu Business Park (Ayala), where you'll find higher nighttime safety, a concentration of restaurants, 24/7 pharmacies, and reliable ride-hailing pickup. Both areas are typically 20-35 minutes from Mactan-Cebu International Airport in light traffic.
- Plan for 30-75 minutes for transfers between Cebu City hotels and Mactan Airport, factoring in peak hour bridge traffic. For early morning flights, pre-book a hotel shuttle or ride-hailing service with at least a 60-90 minute buffer.
- During typhoon or peak energy months (June-December), verify your hotel has an automatic generator. Ask which services like A/C, Wi-Fi, or elevators remain operational in case of blackouts to ensure comfort and accessibility.
- Hotel Wi-Fi speeds can vary; request typical in-room Mbps from the front desk and check if a wired Ethernet port or business lounge is available for stable video calls. If speeds are below 10 Mbps, prepare a backup like mobile tethering.
- Drink only bottled water, as Cebu tap water may not be suitable for visitors. Most hotels provide 1-2 free bottles per guest daily and some offer refill stations; ask to help reduce plastic waste.
- Request written confirmation of elevator or step-free access if you have mobility needs; many older or boutique hotels in Cebu may lack guaranteed accessible routes. Specify your required floor level, elevator access, and door widths ahead of arrival.
