Great location. I felt safe and it was quiet, which is important as I'm a light sleeper. I loved the fancy mirror in the bathroom that doesn't fog up.

The location was great. We are at the pub and the food was excellent. No
This place is extremely close to the center of Galway, and it has a very classic feel. We were able to park our car for free in its garage and there was even a live Irish band in the attached bar/restaurant the night we were there.

it had everything I could ever want. The modernity of a 21st century hotel with a bar adjacent that was from the 1700s. What's not to love.
The bathroom in the suite is stunning and it was clear that attention to detail here was important. The showerhead was amazing.

Top Tips
- Book your Galway hotel 3-5 months before the peak season (June-August) to secure rates up to 20% lower. Late bookings during this period can cost 40-60% more. Compare rates across major hotel chains for the best value.
- Accommodation in Ireland includes a 13.5% Value Added Tax (VAT), but not all prices show this. Always confirm whether quoted rates are net or VAT-inclusive when booking, especially with international chains.
- Hotels in Salthill offer quieter stays with direct coastal access, while the Latin Quarter has central pubs and restaurants. Both areas are walkable and can reduce taxi costs, which typically range from €10-€15 per trip (approx. $11-$16 USD). Choose based on your preferred experience.
- Wi-Fi speeds in modern Galway hotels typically range from 50-150 Mbps, supporting video calls and streaming. Check recent guest reviews for Wi-Fi consistency, especially in older or budget chains.
- Shower water pressure varies in historic Galway buildings. If this is a priority, verify with the hotel directly or review recent guest feedback before booking, especially at boutique or converted properties.
- Ireland uses Type G (three rectangular pin) electrical outlets, 230V/50Hz. Bring a universal adapter, as even upscale hotels may only offer limited USB ports.
- Galway taxis typically cost €10-€15 per city trip (approx. $11-$16 USD). Always agree on the fare up front or request the meter. Unmarked taxis often charge 15-25% more - request official vehicles for fare transparency.
- Family-run B&Bs in Galway can offer a more personal stay, often at rates 10-15% lower than comparable city hotels and usually include breakfast (saving you approx. €10-€15, or $11-$16 USD). Ask if breakfast is included, as this is standard at many B&Bs.
- Step-free access is limited in many historic central hotels. Confirm lift or ramp availability before booking if you require accessible rooms or step-free movement around the property.
- Galway’s tap water meets national safety standards. Use a refillable bottle to avoid buying bottled water, which helps reduce single-use plastic waste.
