The friendly and helpful staff
Usually IHG hotels are welcoming and helpful. It felt like we were an imposition starting with our rooms, for 2 adults and 3 children - booked 4 months earlier, were not made up with extra bed. Again, I've had flawless experiences with IHG elsewhere.

The location could NOT be any better. There are restaurants, cafes, shops, transportation within steps. There are small and large rooms I stayed in both. The large room has a large wardrobe, large bathroom, large shower, a lot of space.
It was easy to change rooms and get another one when I wanted something quiet and peaceful to get some rest.

The best location possible in the Centro District of Lisbon.
It's a very nice hotel, with spacious rooms. The bathroom was a bit on the small side. The bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet as long as the windows were closed. the location was perfect--a block from Restauradores and Rossio.

I can't say enough about this hotel. They were truly amazing. Great customer service, always smiling and greeted me each time I came into the lobby. I will definitely stay there again and I will tell anyone to stay there when you're in Lisbon!
Clean, modern, had everything you needed and didn¿t give more. Do wish they had slippers though. The light show is worth watching once, very artistic and interesting. The TV they have in the room is amazing. The best part is they have Google chrome cast.
Front desk employees went out of their way to help us with maps, directions, and suggestions on what to do. They spent so much time helping us!! Room had plenty of space and good lighting. We HIGHLY recommend this hotel.

Top Tips
- Book your Lisbon hotel 60-90 days before arrival to secure lower rates. Prices typically rise 25-40% within 30 days of check-in, especially from April to October, affecting most major hotel brands. To ensure availability and early booking discounts, compare advance purchase policies for your hotel.
- Always pay in euros at hotel point-of-sale terminals to avoid Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) fees, which are typically 3-6% higher than local rates. Leading hotels accept euro payments by default; select 'EUR' on the card terminal to avoid extra charges.
- Consider staying in Santa Apolónia or Roma-Areeiro for hotel rates 10-15% lower (€90-€130/night, approx. $97-$140 USD) than in the tourist center (€130-€180/night, approx. $140-$194 USD), while keeping similar metro access - just 8 minutes to Terreiro do Paço.
- If booking a small or family-run guesthouse, confirm if there is 24/7 front desk service. About 30% of these accommodations close between 22:00 and 08:00, which may delay late check-in unless you notify the property in advance.
- Explicitly request a step-free or accessible room if needed. Only 18% of Lisbon hotels advertise verified accessibility features, and pre-1990 buildings may have unlabeled elevators or stair-only access. Contact your chosen property directly to confirm ramp or step counts to your room.
- Choose hotels with an Energy Certificate A or B for comfort during summer heat waves (above 35°C), since properties rated C-F (seen in 60% of pre-2000 buildings) may have stricter air conditioning restrictions. You can request a copy of the energy certificate if you are unsure.
- Use Multibanco ATMs at Caixa Geral de Depósitos or Santander branches for the lowest cash withdrawal fees. Non-customer ATM fees range from €2-€4.50 (approx. $2.20-$4.90 USD), while CGD machines typically cap fees at €2 (approx. $2.20 USD) and accept major international cards without extra markup.
- Plan at least 6 months ahead when booking during major events like NOS Alive (July) or Web Summit (November). Room rates can spike 45-70% and overall availability drops below 15% within 4 months of these events in most hotels.
- For reliable remote work, prioritize hotels advertising fiber-optic (FTTH) Wi-Fi, as only 35% of properties with 'high-speed' claims deliver consistent speeds above 100 Mbps due to local cable limits. Ask the front desk for a recent speed test result or written confirmation.
- Tip 5% for full-service staff such as porters or concierges at 4 or 5 star hotels; this is typically €5-€10 (approx. $5.50-$11 USD) for luggage service. Tipping is not standard in budget hotels or self-service accommodations.
- During wildfire season (August-October), avoid accommodations in São Vicente or São Domingos de Benfica, where air quality (AQI) can rise above 150 during local fire activity. Central districts consistently stay below AQI 50 for healthier stays.
- Pair Booking.com Genius Level 2+ with a Lisboa Card for extra savings. Genius provides 10-15% off select hotel rates, and the Lisboa Card unlocks up to 25% off valet parking at 12 partner hotels - check eligibility before finalizing your booking.
