I didn't like this Hotel whatsoever. There was barely any lighting in the parking lot. Having a marked company vehicle, I did not feel safe leaving my equipment in there. Lots of addicts yelling at each other within the building.
One of the staff was very good. The room was clean, comfy bed, working air conditioning.

I loved the open kitchen and the ability to cook your own meals. Everyone was super kind and it was a great way to save money, and be able to have properly made coffee and tea whenever you'd like.
The cost. The kitchen provided all you need and had fresh coffee ready in the morning. The showers had good pressure and a nice entry room to keep things dry.

Top Tips
- For Western University events such as late August move-in and spring or fall convocations, book 4–8 weeks in advance. These academic events increase weekend hotel demand and rates, especially in downtown and near-campus areas. Confirm event dates directly if your travel is flexible to secure better rates.
- London International Airport (YXU) is about 12 km (15–20 minutes by car) from downtown. Taxis and rideshares are common, as there is no public rail from the airport. Ask your hotel if they provide shuttle service or negotiated taxi flat rates.
- Select hotels located within 5–10 minutes’ walk of Richmond Row or Covent Garden Market for easy access to downtown dining and nightlife. This minimizes evening taxi costs, as short rides in central London typically cost $15–$25 CAD. Ask about walkable routes or accessible paths if needed.
- If visiting patients at University Hospital (London Health Sciences Centre), stay in University/Horton or near Richmond Street, 2–4 km (5–12 minute drive) away. Most major hotels offer accessible rooms and step-free access on request; specify these needs during booking.
- London’s municipal water is treated and safe to drink year-round. Bring your own bottle to refill at the hotel or public fountains. In case of severe storms or flooding advisories, check for safety updates from the city or your hotel’s front desk.
- From December to March, average January temperatures range from -6°C to -2°C, with regular snow. For reliable car use and faster morning departures, choose hotels offering indoor or covered parking. Confirm if de-icing tools or plug-in stations for block heaters are available.
- Downtown hotels often charge $15–$25 CAD nightly for parking, listed separately from room rates. Compare properties by this fee, and confirm if parking is onsite, covered, and included or extra. Ask about maximum height clearance if traveling with a large vehicle.
