Very clean and comfortable and looked recently remodeled. Great layout with the sink outside the main bathroom. Loved having the hose and drying cloths to clean our dusty bikes after coming off the trail as well as access to a laundry facility.

The location was perfect. The staff was good. My door keys kept not working so I had to repeatedly go to the front desk to get them fixed...I later found out that the batteries had to be replaced in the door.

Price of room and right off the highway
Checking out.
This run down motel will be ok for a night or two just to rest for the night but I would not recommend staying here as you will find better motels and hotels at the same price near by. This place has shady people roaming around smoking in the parking lot.

I liked how new and clean everything was.
Very nice, clean, comfortable room. Staff was friendly & helpful. One thing I didn?t like.?., they charged a pet deposit which they said is non-refundable; that?s a fee, not a deposit.

Top Tips
- For fall-weekend and summer-weekend visits, secure refundable rates 30-90 days in advance to avoid sell-outs. Peak demand occurs during October leaf season and warm weather. Check cancellation policies at top hotels for added flexibility.
- Choose accommodations within a 10-15 minute walk of Harpers Ferry National Historical Park Visitor Center for direct access. Major hotel chains in Shepherdstown or Charles Town are a 15-20 minute drive and typically offer more parking and 24-hour desk service.
- Downtown public parking fills quickly on summer and holiday weekends. Confirm if your hotel or inn includes free onsite parking, or plan for arrival before 10:00 if using town/NPS lots. Most chain hotels outside the historic core include ample free parking.
- On weekdays, the MARC Brunswick Line offers direct commuter rail to Washington Union Station in 60-80 minutes. If staying at a chain hotel outside Harpers Ferry, consider short taxi or rideshare journeys to the station as train parking is limited.
- Save up to 30% nightly or access loyalty points by basing your stay in Shepherdstown or Charles Town, both under 13 miles (20 km) from Harpers Ferry. These towns host major hotel brands with larger parking lots, breakfast options, and late-night dining nearby.
- Historic B&Bs often lack elevators and have narrow stairs. Confirm accessible rooms or step-free access if mobility is a concern. Major hotels in outlying towns provide ADA rooms and elevator service.
- For reliable Wi-Fi and private workspaces, request a recent speed test (at least 25 Mbps) from your inn, or select a chain hotel with business centers and in-room desks to ensure remote-work stability.
- Many local restaurants close by 8-9 PM outside summer. Plan dinner reservations on weekends or bring snacks for late arrivals. Nearby hotel chains may provide grab-and-go snacks or 24-hour lobby markets.
- In flood-prone areas near Shenandoah Street, opt for upper-floor rooms, as ground level sees 1-2 minor floods annually (highest risk March-April). Major hotels outside the old town are not in flood zones.
- Train horns may sound 3-5 times nightly in central Harpers Ferry, so pack earplugs or confirm noise-reduction features. Outlying hotels are generally quieter and offer blackout curtains and enhanced soundproofing.
- Request river-view rooms at properties like The Angler’s Inn to enjoy evening temperatures 5-8°F (3-4°C) cooler in summer. Hotels in outlying areas may offer air conditioning and better climate control.
- Bring cash for historic inns, as some local properties charge 3.5% card surcharges and ATMs add $15 fees. Chain hotels in the area usually accept cards without surcharge.
