Hotel was sold in 2021, and the new owners have DRAMATICALLY improved the property. Lobby is warm and comfortable, rooms are sizeable and well-appointed. Best hotel option in Port Angeles, by far. Free breakfast was an unexpected bonus, and very good.

Top Tips
- Book 3 to 6 months ahead for summer stays to avoid 20-40% price increases common in July and August due to high Olympic National Park demand. For flexibility, choose refundable rates, as many hotels allow free cancellation until 24 hours before arrival.
- Verify hotel Wi-Fi speeds if working remotely; downtown hotels average 15-25 Mbps, while rural lodges may drop below 5 Mbps, which can impact video call quality. Check if the hotel offers dedicated workspaces or business centers for consistent connectivity and comfort.
- Add 12-14% for lodging tax and potential resort fees; booking directly through hotel websites can sometimes help you avoid OTA markups and extra charges. Loyalty program members may receive exclusive discounts or amenities that are not always available through third parties.
- Prioritize downtown hotels within 1-2 miles of the ferry terminal for 10-15 minutes faster park access and reduced street noise compared to outskirts properties. Downtown hotels offer easy walking access to local shops and restaurants, and several are near transit stops serving the park entrance.
- Request accessible (ADA-compliant) rooms in advance; 60-70% of hotels meet standards, and properties often accommodate requests for step-free entries or roll-in showers with 48 hours’ notice. For accessibility features like visual alarms or accessible parking, confirm details directly with the hotel prior to arrival.
- Prepare for 150+ rainy days annually by selecting rooms with heaters and elevated beds; hotels near the Strait of Juan de Fuca frequently provide free rain gear loans. Ask about drying areas or laundry facilities for wet gear during extended stays.
- Opt for certified eco-hotels near the park that save 20-30% on utilities; these properties often provide reusable kits during dry summer months, supporting local water conservation efforts. Look for brands with Green Key or LEED certification for additional eco benefits and guest programs.
