Nice quiet area, convenient stop on our trip
They have recently begun their breakfast service again and our room was right next to the elevator and did not have the sounds of its operations coming through into the room.

Staff is always so friendly and service is always above and beyond. Hotel has been managed so well it looks just as immaculate as the day it opened.
This is my favorite staycation spot. Why? I love hotel employee. God help you if you ever lose her. This hotel is as nice as it was the day it opened. And it will continue to be impeccably kept and maintain such high quality as long as she is there. 100% true.

Top Tips
- Book your Dupont Circle hotel 3-4 weeks ahead, especially during peak diplomatic events, to secure rates between $180-$280 USD per night. Prices can increase by 15-25% if booking closer to the date.
- Use the Dupont Circle Metro station (Red Line) for fast transfers; a single ride costs $2-$3.50 USD (peak/off-peak). Most hotels are a 2-8 minute walk to the Red Line.
- Budget for parking, as on-site hotel valet or nearby garages typically run about $40-$60 USD per night. Pre-booking a garage spot via SpotHero or ParkWhiz can be 10-30% cheaper.
- Plan around the Dupont Circle Farmers Market, which operates Sundays from approximately 8:30 to 13:00 on the circle. Expect higher foot traffic, temporary vendor setups, and limited curb parking within one block.
- Request a quieter room if sensitive to noise; bars and restaurants clustered on 17th St NW and P St NW can generate noise after 22:00, with DC last-call for on-premise alcohol at 02:00.
- Allow an extra 15-30 minutes for pickups or walks near Massachusetts Ave due to Embassy Row proximity. Motorcades, diplomatic security, or demonstrations can cause sporadic closures.
- Confirm step-free access before booking; many Dupont lodgings are converted rowhouses with steps and narrow elevators. Explicitly ask for 'step-free entry + roll-in shower' if you need an accessible room.
- Check WMATA’s real-time elevator status before arrival if you depend on step-free routes, as outages can occur and lead to detours.
- Consider off-peak travel, usually November to March, for hotel price reductions of up to 30%, with average nightly rates as low as $120-$180 USD.
- Dupont Circle is a highly walkable neighborhood; relying on walking or Metro transit can save $20-$50 USD per day on rideshares compared to driving.
- Be aware that street parking in Dupont Circle is metered and often restricted by time limits, such as 2-hour limits, or permit requirements.
- Factor in DC's 14.95% hotel tax, which will add nearly 15% to your quoted room rate for District of Columbia sales and occupancy taxes.
- Verify quiet hours directly with smaller boutique hotels in residential areas, as some may have informal quiet hours starting at 22:00 or 23:00.
