Top Tips
- Book 2–3 months ahead for summer stays, as Bellevue hotel rates typically climb 20-30% between June and August due to large-scale events like the Bellevue Arts Festival. For best rates and availability at major brands, secure your room early, especially if visiting during festival weekends.
- Expect a 10-12% occupancy tax and possible $15-20 nightly resort fees at Bellevue hotels; these can increase your final bill by 15-25% over base rates. Check your reservation summary before confirming to see a breakdown of all charges.
- Prioritize downtown Bellevue when safety and transit access matter, as the area’s crime rate sits about 20% below the national average. Enjoy 5-10 minute walks to the light rail and multiple hotel-operated shuttle options for added mobility.
- Verify hotel Wi-Fi speeds in advance, as most properties offer 50-100 Mbps, suitable for video calls and streaming. If you handle sensitive data or require higher bandwidth for work, ask the front desk about premium connection options.
- For accessible stays, request step-free access in advance; 80-90% of Bellevue’s hotels built after 2010 meet ADA standards. Older properties may require specific room or elevator requests, so contact the hotel to confirm available features like ramp access or visual alarms.
- Prepare for Bellevue’s November to March rainy season, as monthly rainfall averages 3-5 inches. Request a room with a covered entry or check whether the hotel provides umbrellas or boot trays for guest use.
- Choose LEED-certified hotels like the Hyatt Regency Bellevue, which use 20-30% less water versus standard properties. Help support Washington’s sustainability goals and ask about in-room recycling or energy-saving features during your stay.
- Use Bank of America ATMs throughout Bellevue to avoid typical $3-5 foreign withdrawal fees; most downtown hotels are close to at least one fee-free option. Check the ATM locator app for up-to-date availability.
