After traveling for many days and using multiple hotels, we were shocked to find our beds made & the bathroom tidied. No other hotel provided this service. The maid tip was worth their service. There was a wonderful $2 trolley service for this area.

Nice and close to Terry Peak. Rooms were clean and in good condition. It was a very comfortable stay. Staff was helpful, they had beer, soda in the lobby for purchase.
The room was very clean, might need new carpet soon. The backyard has a creek running through with soft seating to sit and relax. The back also has a huge gazebo with lights and drinks and also has a sauna. I did not use the sauna but looks nice.

More like a beans breakfast, only 8 well furnished rooms in a great location near the saloons, casinos and entertainment but a block away from the main noisy street. Parking just for the Branch is right next to the hotel.

Top Tips
- Book your Deadwood hotel 6-12 months in advance for the early August Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, when nightly rates surge by 200-300% (typical rates: $100-$250). Planning ahead guarantees better room choices and price transparency during this high-demand event.
- Expect a 5-7% local occupancy tax added to your hotel bill in Deadwood, averaging $15 per night. Review your final booking summary to confirm total costs before arrival.
- Staying on Historic Main Street puts you within a 5-10 minute walk of major attractions but comes with increased noise. For quieter and 20-30% cheaper stays, explore hotel options 2-5 miles outside downtown, which is ideal if you prefer a restful environment.
- Wi-Fi in Deadwood hotels typically ranges from 10-50 Mbps, but speeds can drop during storms. Check speed with staff on arrival if reliable internet is essential for remote work.
- Petty theft rises by 40% near tourist areas in summer. Use hotel safes for valuables and opt for secured parking lots when available to minimize risk.
- Over 60% of Deadwood’s historic hotels lack elevators. If you need step-free access, request an accessible room or ground-floor assignment when booking to ensure comfort.
- Black Hills winters bring sub-zero weather and a 10-20% higher risk of power outages. Select hotels with backup generators if visiting in winter for uninterrupted comfort.
- Out-of-network ATM withdrawals in Deadwood typically incur $2-$3 fees. Use bank-affiliated ATMs or check if your hotel offers cash withdrawal services at the front desk.
