Located in central Rapid City, this historic hotel is just 30 minutes’ drive from Mount Rushmore National Monument. - The staff were amazing from the lady that checked us in to room service. The rooms retained the historic look but were modern and clean. Lastly the rooftop bar and location of the hotel were amazing.
- Location and charm
- The location is as good as it gets in downtown Rapid City. The rooftop restaurant is superb, and the propane fire places on the roof allow for an evening of enjoyment even when it's a bit chilly.
Cons -
- Being a diamond rewards member, I had an extremely small room
- Room was small
- I paid for a family suite and ended up with just a couch that was not even a pullout for my son. The manager was not helpful at all and wanted to charge me an extra $25 for a pullout couch. Used to be one of favorite hotels in Rapid
