Close to wedding venue we were attending. We enjoyed the deck, although in rough shape. Our room was clean. Kudos to the cleaning staff!
The best thing about the hotel was the location. It was directly across from the beach. The room did offer partial ocean view as it promised.
The location was fantastic it¿s right on the beach

Very centralized location for my needs- daughter's orientation at University of Rhode Island
Meh. For the price I would have expected more. This felt mid/average but not worth $--- for a single night and a decent hot breakfast should have been included at this price point.

Good price. Cool updated decor, very comfortable room. Pleasant staff. Adjacent to a good brewpub for a meal and a drink. Not noisy, which is always a concern for me with a motel.

The location is perfect. There is convenient parking right on site and it's within walking distance from everything in the Newport harbor area. Our room had a harbor view, and we saw an amazing sunset right from the room.

This is a quaint hotel in an excellent location in Newport. The hotel felt like you stepped back in time but we enjoyed that about it. If you want super modern, this is not the place for you. The breakfast and tea time were excellent.
Breakfast was great. The location was walking distance from Gansett Cruises (great tour) and the room was quaint and comfortable. There is also a rooftop patio. You have to climb to the 4th floor to access it.

The staff was super friendly. Large roooms with mini kitchen. Very clean. And the head chef is famous- competing on Gordon Ramsey’s Hells Kitchen in 2025. Excellent menu.

The view was amazing!
Nothing!Did not stay at the Wyndham due to all the reasons checked. I was placed in the annex building which had NO PARKING and would have to travel back & forth to main building for any amenities which was impossible with toting two children and luggage.
I love the location the most you can see the water and Newport bridge

Good location for easy exploring on foot. Host is genial and helpful. The inn is clean, comfortable and inviting.
This was a great B&B experience. Even after reading reviews online, not always sure what to expected. My biggest thing is cleaningless and I was completely satisfied on that side. It's an older house, very well kept and super charming. Great location too!
the area, the house was decorated well and was cozy, the breakfast was well-prepared

Top Tips
- Book hotels 6 to 8 weeks in advance for summer or holiday weekends, as Narragansett occupancy spikes May through September. Major hotel chains and local properties fill quickly near events like the Blessing of the Fleet (mid-July). Some hotel loyalty programs sometimes offer early booking perks or flexible cancellation when booking direct; check your options.
- Compare your total nightly cost by adding state and local taxes (about 15%) and any required resort or parking fees before confirming. Most branded hotels display these details before prepayment, but review your booking summary and email confirmation for possible extra charges.
- Review each property's cancellation policy, especially at smaller or independent hotels, which may have stricter terms in summer. Major chains often provide free cancellation up to 24-48 hours before arrival, but policies vary, so verify before payment.
- Select your hotel location based on your plans: stay near Narragansett Town Beach if you want beach access (within 0.2-0.5 miles), Point Judith for ferries (2.5-3 miles south), or the Towers area for walkable dining. Many chain hotel websites offer location filters to find properties closest to these activity hubs.
- Rent a car for flexible access to sites like Point Judith Lighthouse (3 miles) and Newport vineyards (15-20 miles). RIPTA buses run but are less frequent than in cities, and ride-shares or taxis may have waits over 20 minutes, especially after 9:00 p.m. Confirm hotel parking availability and seasonal fees, as lots can fill by mid-morning.
- Arrive by 9:00 a.m. for beach parking in peak summer, as town lots fill fast. Ask your hotel if they offer shuttle service or off-peak beach recommendations; some chain hotels have seasonal shuttles. Accessible parking is available at public beaches for guests with mobility needs.
- Ask the front desk about beach chair or towel rentals, local surf schools, tide charts, and lifeguard hours to enhance your beach day. Many hotels partner with local surf shops, and you can often pre-reserve some rentals before arrival by checking with the concierge.
- Adhere to beach safety and local rules. Lifeguards are present daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day, and most beaches prohibit dogs May through September from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Check with your hotel for dog-friendly beaches or onsite pet relief areas.
- Prepare for check-in with a government-issued ID and credit card; many chains require a deposit or pre-authorization of $50 to $150 at arrival. Confirm the deposit policy and refund timeline directly with your hotel.
- If working remotely, verify your hotel’s Wi-Fi speed (often 25 Mbps or higher at major brands), business center hours, and meeting room access. Some properties offer paid Wi-Fi upgrades, and coverage can be spotty near Scarborough and south of Point Judith, so check options when booking.
- Follow U.S. tipping practices: tip 15-20% in restaurants, $15 to $25 per day for housekeeping (leave cash each day with a note), $15 to $30 per bag for bell service, and $15 to $25 for valet. Some hotel chains allow digital tipping through apps or wallets.
- Pack for variable coastal weather by bringing layers, a windbreaker, and reef-safe sunscreen. Evenings can drop below 65°F (18°C) from sea breezes, even in summer. Some hotels lend umbrellas or extra blankets on request; ask at check-in.
- Plan ferry and boat trips early in summer. Block Island ferries (over 15 departures daily) and fishing charters can book up fast on weekends, so reserve at least a week in advance or through your hotel’s concierge. Some major chains have partnerships for discounted excursions.
- Expect lively summer nightlife near the Towers area and a quieter off-season. To prioritize restful nights, request a room away from bars or venues when booking. Chain hotels often guarantee room type or location preferences for elite status holders; inquire at booking or check-in.
- For families, inquire about cribs, rollaways, connecting rooms, and proximity (within 800 feet) to lifeguarded beaches and public restrooms. Confirm accessible room features and call ahead to request step-free access or modifications, as many older coastal hotels vary.
- Solo travelers should choose centrally located, well-lit hotels and confirm late-night taxi or ride-share availability (after 10:00 p.m.). Narragansett is generally low crime, but options may be limited off-peak. Request a room above ground level or near elevators if arriving late.
- Ask the front desk about local specialties, such as Aunt Carrie's (clam shack, 1.5 miles from the town beach), stuffies (stuffed quahogs), or Del’s Lemonade stands for a South County treat. Some hotels have partnerships with local restaurants for menu offerings—check menus for local suppliers.
- Hotel mask, cleaning, and vaccination protocols have mostly relaxed, but some properties may update policies during peak or special events. Check confirmations or pre-arrival emails for current requirements, and call ahead if your stay coincides with a major event.
- Request early check-in or late check-out when booking; chains may charge $20 to $50 or offer this free to loyalty members if available. Confirm your status 24 hours before arrival, as availability changes daily.
- Expect higher hotel prices during summer concerts or regattas (July-August), sometimes up to 40% above regular rates. Book at least 6 weeks early for the best rates, or consider early June or late September for smaller crowds and lower prices. Loyalty programs may offer event blackout date alerts—sign up to stay informed.
- Use the front desk for local expertise, such as reserving tables at specific restaurants, ordering licensed taxis, recommending scenic drives (Point Judith Lighthouse, Ocean Road), or giving updates on road closures. Many hotels provide digital guides or QR codes with tips; ask at check-in.
