Top Tips
- Book Hershey hotels 45 to 90 days ahead for summer weekends, stadium concerts, or holiday programs, as event dates like Christmas Candylane frequently sell out on weekends. Advance booking helps secure preferred rooms during peak demand.
- Stay on Chocolate Avenue or Hersheypark Drive to keep transit time to main sites within a 5 to 15 minute walk (0.1–0.6 miles) of Hersheypark, Hershey’s Chocolate World, and downtown visitor services. Accessible sidewalks and crosswalks are standard along these routes.
- Compare direct-book packages from The Hotel Hershey and Hershey Lodge with online travel agencies, as these often bundle Hersheypark tickets, breakfast, or shuttle service, potentially saving over purchasing separate park passes. Verify bundled inclusions before booking.
- Fly into Harrisburg International (MDT) for a 12 to 20 minute drive to Hershey. Typical taxi or rideshare fares range from $25–$45 one way; confirm real-time pricing before booking.
- If you have scent sensitivities, request an unscented room in advance, as some Hershey hotels and retail spaces use chocolate-scented amenities or lobby fragrances. Contact the hotel to confirm room preparation options.
- Prioritize hotels with on-site dining or late-service options if arriving after 9 PM, as many Hershey restaurants close by 9 to 10 PM on weekdays. Confirm kitchen hours before your stay to ensure late-night meals are available.
- Check hotel parking policies and shuttle schedules before booking, as parking fees vary (complimentary, $10–$30 nightly, or valet). Shuttle service to Hersheypark may operate on limited schedules; request details before arrival.
