Staff Clean room This place is conveniently located right next to a highway and very close to the highway. The rooms were very clean and felt new to me.

Check-in and check-out was efficiently handled. The hotel looked more like a Days Inn than a Hampton. It definitely does not live up to the Hampton name.
Beds were pretty comfortable. Decor was nice. Breakfast ok.
Convenient location. Excellent free breakfast. Helpful staff. Fair price for the times.

They have a nice roof top lounge area where you can look out and enjoy
It was clean and modern the location was the best part. Staff was very helpful amd friendly. I loved that it paid homage to Kent State University
Love this hotel, so convenient to stay when visiting our daughter, who is a student at KSU. Love being able to walk out of the hotel and being able to walk everywhere.

Hotel was clean, staff very helpful.food was good.
Cleanliness, location, buffet breakfast & friendliness of staff
Location: Walking distance to various restaurants (both fast food and decent sit-down places). Room was nice and clean. Parking was convenient: Was able to park next to the exit/entrance so I walked less than 5 yards to get to my room.

The room was amazing, bed was super comfortable and the location.
There were two minor, yet relevant issues that were brought to the staff?s attention. The toilet ran all night (minor fix by adjusting the float valve chain) and the house phone on the desk didn?t have a dial tone. Again, nothing major. Staff-GREAT!!!!

The accessibility to where I was going.

The aesthetic of the hotel made us feel like we'd found a hidden gem in an otherwise unnotible area. The free weekend parking in the parking deck behind the hotel was convenient. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was delicious and also convenient.
Nothing. They didn¿t have a room for me.
The rooms are very nice!

The staff were unbelievably helpful, welcoming, and genuinely caring. The hotel itself is exceptionally clean and has been thoughtfully refurbished with great attention to detail. It is clear that pride and love.
Nothing was kicked and wasn't given back deposit after one night scam
The hotel room was very clean and nice.

Staff was very nice
I had good water pressure in the shower, which isn't always the case at hotels. The location is also convenient, with restaurants & Walmart nearby. It's clean. Due to the price, it just barely receives my recommendation for a budget stay.
The hotel was simple, basic, but clean. It was easy to check in, people were nice, great location.

Location off the tollway was convenient. Breakfast was what I expected; not flashy but more than adequate to get the day started.
Breakfast was great.
staff and location are very good. Cleanliness is also very good.

The front desk staff was professional upon check-in. The breakfast area was clean and ready at 6:00a on a Saturday and the breakfast attendant was great and helpful.
The front desk staff were excellent
There was no drama, only professionalism from check-in to checkout. The staff was also welcoming. I found this differential from other hotel experiences. I also like the warm breakfast with eggs and sausage. The coffee brewed was fresh.

I liked the shower. Many hotels have terrible water pressure, but this one has good water pressure and very nice bath products. They also have a nice pool and I thought the breakfast for better than what many hotels provide these days.
Very clean. Room was great! Staff was friendly and helpful.
The breakfast area was a great size. It¿s also close to a Wal-Mart and gas station.

Top Tips
- Book hotels 4-8 weeks before Kent State University graduation, homecoming, or major athletic events to avoid sellouts and price spikes. Verify exact dates on the KSU academic calendar, and reserve accessible rooms early if needed, as inventory is limited during peak periods.
- Choose Akron–Canton Airport (CAK) for the shortest drive to Kent (20-30 minutes), or Cleveland Hopkins (CLE) for more flight options but a 45-60 minute transfer. Ride-share and taxi services are available at both airports, with fares typically $45–$80 USD; confirm accessible vehicle availability in advance if needed.
- Staying near SR-59 or downtown Kent offers a 10-20 minute drive to Kent State’s main campus and convenient access to Cuyahoga Valley National Park trailheads. Ask hotels about shuttle service, on-site parking, step-free access, and explore downtown dining or local coffee shops within walking distance.
- Prioritize hotels with free on-site parking to avoid $15 to $25 per day fees at lots or city meters. Ask about accessible parking spaces, EV charging, and whether parking lots have surveillance or controlled access for added security.
- If traveling in winter or with an EV, call hotels to confirm indoor or covered parking and on-site EV chargers, as these fill quickly. Reserve these amenities early, and ask about step-free routes from the parking area to the lobby to avoid delays in snowy conditions.
- For remote work, request a business or quiet room and check actual Wi-Fi upload/download speeds upon arrival. Ask about business center hours, coworking spaces, and inform the hotel in advance of any specific accessibility needs, such as visual alarms or hearing assistance devices.
