This hotel has a great pool/hot tub, great breakfast, friendly staff, and great proximity to Horrocks.
Staff checked me in and she was wonderful and my room had a nice view of the market with the lights! I liked the automatic lights in the bathroom as well. Besides a desperate need of a revamp to the room, it was pleasant enough.
Was close to the area we needed to be for my Brothers funeral.

Top Tips
- Book your Lansing hotel at least 2-3 months in advance for major Michigan State University events such as football games or graduation. Rates can increase by 40-60% during these periods, and availability at top hotels may be limited.
- Expect a total lodging tax of 11-15% on your Michigan hotel bill. This includes a 6% statewide sales tax plus local occupancy taxes, which often exceed the state average by 2-3%. Verify the final tax breakdown on your booking confirmation.
- Explore East Lansing neighborhoods for hotel stays to find rates 20-30% lower than downtown Lansing, while still staying within 5 miles of Michigan State University. Some hotels also offer complimentary shuttle service to campus on event days; check the schedule when booking.
- When visiting in winter (December-February), choose hotels that advertise backup generators or reliable power. Snowstorms can cause power outages on 10-15% of days during this season in Lansing. Check for additional amenities such as indoor pools or heated lobbies for added comfort.
- If you need fast Wi-Fi for remote work, downtown Lansing business hotels typically average 50 Mbps, while budget hotels can drop to 30 Mbps, especially after 9 PM. Confirm current speeds with the property prior to arrival.
- Request accessible room features before your stay. Newer East Lansing hotels often exceed 90% ADA compliance, while older downtown properties may require 48 hours' advance notice for step-free access, accessible bathrooms, or visual fire alarms in up to 70% of rooms.
