This hotel staff was rude. Very not professional or accommodating. I asked if I could have a space for a 1/2 meeting for work and they wanted $2,000. They said my daughter , who is 17, could go to the steakhouse go there and they say no.
The room was a decent size and the bathroom was clean (can't say for sure about the carpets LOL). The pool/spa was really nice! Spa staff were lovely & welcoming. But IMHO, this hotel is overpriced unless you are a player.

Top Tips
- Book hotels 6-12 weeks ahead for Detroit's major events, including the Grand Prix, Movement Festival, and North American International Auto Show. Rates can double on these weekends as availability tightens. Top hotels may offer special packages or require a minimum stay during these periods, so check inclusions such as breakfast or shuttle services before booking.
- Allow 25-40 minutes for Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) transfers and budget $35-$60 one way for rideshares, depending on I-94 or I-75 traffic. Many major hotel brands run airport shuttles; confirm if this amenity is included and verify early or late schedules, as shuttle service may pause overnight.
- Expect hotel parking fees of $20-$50 per night and valet adds $10-$25. Some hotels offer a long-stay parking cap; ask staff to clarify maximum charges before you arrive. If you require accessible parking or EV charging, reserve these features in advance, as availability can vary.
- Staying in Midtown or New Center puts you within 0.5-2 miles of Detroit's major museums and venues, including the Detroit Institute of Arts and Little Caesars Arena. Walk or take a 7-15 minute ride to key attractions. Check if your hotel offers partner amenities like local shuttles or discounted rideshares for events in these areas.
- Event venues and casinos like Comerica Park, Little Caesars Arena, Greektown, and MGM designate specific rideshare and taxi pickup zones. Using these zones can cut post-event wait times by 10-30 minutes; check signage or ask hotel staff for guidance. If your hotel runs a courtesy shuttle after events, consider this option, especially if you have mobility needs.
- Historic-conversion hotels in Detroit may have limited accessible or step-free rooms and some elevators do not reach every floor. Request an accessible room type and confirm elevator access when booking to avoid inconvenience. Guests who need visual alarms or hearing-accessible rooms should specify this in advance to ensure availability.
- Detroit municipal tap water is treated to EPA standards and is safe to drink. Most hotels provide filtered water stations or bottled water on request; bring a refillable bottle for use at these stations to reduce waste. For additional reassurance, check with staff or visit the city health department website for current water quality info.
- Detroit's peak tree and grass pollen season is April to May. If you have allergies, request hypoallergenic bedding and extra pre-arrival cleaning, as most reputable hotels can accommodate with advance notice. Ask about rooms with newer HVAC or air purification systems if needed—many modern hotels feature these for guests with sensitivities.
- Most major downtown hotels and casinos maintain backup generators to supply essential power during brief winter outages. If relying on medical devices or requiring special arrangements, confirm your hotel's emergency power policy with management in advance to ensure comfort.
- Choosing a Midtown or New Center hotel keeps you within a 10-15 minute car ride to cultural and medical destinations such as the Detroit Institute of Arts or Henry Ford Health System, even at peak traffic. For public transportation, the QLINE streetcar and DDOT buses reliably serve these neighborhoods.
