Location to i95 That was it
There is nothing good about this hotel with the exception that the gentleman behind the desk was very kind despite our issues. We paid for a night and did not stay there due to the extremely unsafe and unsanitary conditions.

Delaware Park, known for its thoroughbred racing, is one of the main reasons to visit the Newark East-Christiana area. If you're looking for bargains, exit off I-95 to reach the sprawling Christiana Mall, the largest shopping center in Delaware. Christiana has a sprinkling of historic houses, including several dating back to the Revolutionary War and even earlier. About 30 miles northeast is Philadelphia International Airport.
The largest city in Delaware, Wilmington manages to retain a small-town feel. The Wilmington Riverwalk is a pleasant way to see the historic downtown area. Philadelphia International Airport is 20 miles northeast.
The University of Delaware is the heart of this area, and its streets lined with casual bars and restaurants are warm and welcoming. Top Tips
- Book your Newark hotel 3 to 6 months in advance for University of Delaware Commencement in May, and 1 to 3 months before fall move-in or football weekends, as local hotels often reach capacity quickly. Most large chains offer flexible cancellation up to 24 to 48 hours before arrival, so early reservations usually carry minimal risk.
- Contact hotels directly 4 to 9 months before UD Commencement to request a group rate or room block, since these rooms often sell out before public inventory. Ask if group bookings include extras such as breakfast, parking, or late check-out, and confirm accessible room options when reserving.
- Hotels 0.3 to 0.8 miles from Market Street or the University of Delaware Main Campus allow you to walk to restaurants and campus events in about 10 to 12 minutes. If mobility support is needed, check if the property offers step-free access or a local shuttle service.
- Hotels along I-95, Route 1, or Route 40 offer quick 35 to 50 minute drives to Philadelphia Airport and Delaware beaches, and usually provide free parking for standard vehicles. If you require airport shuttle service or parking for larger vehicles, confirm availability before booking.
- Newark's Amtrak and SEPTA rail station provides direct service to Wilmington in about 10 to 15 minutes and to central Philadelphia in roughly 35 to 50 minutes. Check current train schedules, and ask your hotel about complimentary shuttles between the station and hotel for added convenience.
- Parking near the University of Delaware or downtown may be limited or cost $0 to $20 per day for garages. Confirm your hotel’s parking policy, and ask about accessible parking spaces, electric vehicle charging, or if you will have in/out privileges during your stay.
- To reduce noise from student gatherings during the academic year, request an upper-floor room facing away from Main Street or College Avenue. Many hotels provide sound-insulated windows, but packing earplugs can help if you are sensitive to evening activity.
- Full-service, branded hotels near I-95 or the Newark rail station often include business centers, meeting rooms, and reliable Wi-Fi, which are ideal for work trips. Confirm workspace accessibility and ask if premium internet access has a daily fee.
