The room was new and modern!! It had wolf stove, sub zero frig, soft close drawers, heated bathroom floors. We got a 2 bedroom unit which was supposed to sleep 6. It did not sleep 6. Rest of our family was at another hotel and they slept there.

The location and the friendly staff.
The hotel exudes German charm with antiques and Bavarian pieces. Staff is welcoming and caters to the ski crowd with wonderful apres ski in Pepis bar. Rooms are warm and inviting and only a short walk to Gondola 1.
It¿s smack dab in the middle of downtown Vail, close to shops and restaurants.

Location, staff and services like pool and hot tub
Pros- Since it was built in 1968 this hotel has a great location. It is right in the middle of Vail Village and is convenient walking everywhere. Staff is friendly and it's got a great hot tub outside on the roof. Nice to go breakfast during covid.

The Sebastian was on top of everything we asked for
Nothing. AVOID! Hotel fraudulently charged themselves a large sum of money to my credit card to which they can't explain. One front desk person said maybe the room service wrote a tip in themselves. Management has done nothing to right the wrong.
I booked this because it said it was ski in / ski out. It is a 1/2 mile from the nearest ski lift! I would not have stayed here if I knew it wasn¿t ski in/ski out. With two small kids I decided to splurge and get a ski in / ski out property. Scammed

The location was excellent and the rooftop pool/spa was nice although it could have used a cleaning.
It¿s cozy atmosphere, the cookies and bourbon in the lobby for happy hour, the suspicious room, the lovely spa and outstanding location right in the center of Lionshead Village close to restaurants, shopping and ski rentals.

Top Tips
- Prioritize Eagle County Airport (EGE) for winter trips, as it is 35-45 minutes from Vail and reduces ground travel time by 1.5-2 hours compared to Denver International Airport (DEN). Confirm seasonal shuttle availability and schedules with your hotel, especially for early or late arrivals.
- Allow an additional 2-4 hours for travel from DEN to Vail during holiday and ski-weekend peaks, as I-70 delays are common. Check Colorado DOT alerts for chain requirements or closures before driving, and contact your hotel for current road condition notifications or recommended shuttle services.
- Use the Town of Vail’s free bus system for transfers between Vail Village, Lionshead, and West Vail; buses often run every 10-20 minutes. This helps avoid hotel valet wait times or parking fees. For late-night or mobility needs, ask your hotel if a shuttle is available.
- Choose Lionshead for easier, mostly step-free access to the Eagle Bahn Gondola, with hotels located directly next to the lift. Vail Village features more historic pedestrian streets with steps and elevation changes; if accessibility is needed, verify room details or elevator locations when booking.
- Confirm all parking and resort or amenity fees before booking, as full-service Vail properties often add $25-$60 USD (approx. €23-€55) per night. Check the property page for the total nightly rate to avoid unexpected charges at check-in.
- Vail’s altitude is approximately 8,150 feet (2,484 m), so allow 24-48 hours to acclimate and increase hydration. Ask your hotel if in-room humidifiers or oxygen canisters are available, especially if you have health or mobility considerations.
- For Bravo! Vail and other summer festivals (June to August), book your central hotel 2-6 months in advance as inventory is limited and rates often rise closer to event dates. Contact the property early if accessible features or seating are required.
- Onsite ski storage and boot-drying fees may range from $0-$25 USD (approx. €0-€23) per day. Confirm if your hotel’s storage is secure and heated, and ask about equipment pickup or in-room delivery if needed.
- If working remotely, request a wired ethernet line or ask for recent Wi-Fi speed test results before booking, as upload speeds can vary by property. Clarify whether reliable connectivity and workspace are guaranteed in your specific room type if video calls are required.
