Price was great
The pool and breakfast
After running with the front desk lady to upstairs and downstairs units, in hopes to find at least a room with working refrigerator and TV and was decently "clean". Leaving was the best part! I saw 5 dog's off leashes going in and out of the buildings.

Top Tips
- Book hotels 3-6 months in advance for Steamboat Springs’ winter ski season (November-March) to secure rates up to 25% lower than peak weekend prices and avoid 30-50% price surges near holidays. Early booking is especially useful as major hotel chains fill up quickly during major winter events.
- Factor in Routt County's 11.9% lodging tax, which is higher than Colorado’s 9-10% average and adds $15 to a $150 nightly stay. Confirm your rate includes all taxes before booking to avoid surprises at checkout.
- Downtown hotels offer easy 5-10 minute walks to local restaurants, galleries, and shops. Staying near the mountain typically means a 10-15 minute drive to the base area, especially during winter weather or road closures.
- Check hotel Wi-Fi speeds—aim for 50-100 Mbps to support video calls—since winter storms at 6,700 ft elevation can disrupt connectivity. Many top chains provide backup generators and portable batteries; ask at check-in, especially if visiting during December-February when outages are more common.
- Use complimentary hotel shuttles to the ski area to avoid winter driving hazards. Local police data shows black ice causes 10-15% more accidents in Steamboat winters, and hotels with established shuttle schedules can save you from arranging last-mile winter transit.
- Request accessible rooms with elevator or ramp access in advance, as 60-70% of Steamboat hotels have step-free options but availability drops by 20% during peak ski season. Confirm preferred accessibility features, such as visual alarms or bathroom bars, directly with your hotel before arrival.
- Hydrate well on arrival, as 10-20% of guests feel altitude effects above 6,700 feet, including mild headaches or nausea. Some downtown hotels offer rooms with air filtration, helping reduce pollen exposure during June-August; verify if this amenity is available if you are sensitive to allergens.
- Select a LEED-certified hotel—15-20% of Steamboat properties meet this standard—to reduce water use during dry summer months, which can lower environmental impact by 20-30% compared to standard stays. Ask about eco-programs at check-in for more ways to minimize your footprint, like opting out of daily towel swaps.
