Great location, extremely clean room.
Location is RIGHT On the water (unless you stay on the other side of the parking lot which is not a great location). Right under the restaurant but pretty quiet. Balcony right over the water on the harbor. You can watch boats, seals, and birds so by.

Best location overlooking the coast. Safe and well maintained hotel, with comfortable room, bed, and a nice tub for a hot bath on a cold evening. Enjoyable stay. Plus very helpful and friendly staff.
Love the fact it doesn't look like a motel. Feels like a cottage and more private. Fabulous ocean view!!

There was no downside to this room!! The views were spectacular, the room was just as nice as the view! One of my top 5 hotels of all time!
It was clean, and very nice, good wifi, fluffy towels, nice robes. Good service. We liked the French coffee press. I left my make-up bag and the maid went above and beyond to get it back to me. I would have been very upset to drive off without it
The two person jetted tub.

Top Tips
- For summer stays (June-August), book Mendocino coastal inns at least 5 months in advance to access standard rates. Expect rates to rise 40-70% when occupancy exceeds 85%. Early booking allows for better room selection and value.
- Rates rise 30-50% during the Mendocino Coast Salmon Festival (October) and local art walks. Book by July to secure availability or avoid event surcharges.
- Save 30-40% by choosing inland towns like Willits or Hopland, where nightly rates average $150-$190 compared to Mendocino village's $220-$280. These towns are a 20-30 minute drive from most coastal attractions and usually offer easier parking.
- If you plan to work remotely, check Wi-Fi speeds before booking. Over 60% of B&Bs use rural DSL with 10-25 Mbps down, which may not meet high-bandwidth needs; ask if fiber or Starlink is available.
- Accessible hotel options are limited on the Mendocino Coast, with fewer than 15% of inns offering step-free access or ADA-compliant rooms. Call to confirm ramp access and bathroom modifications, and consider hotel brands that may provide more accessibility features.
- Decline dynamic currency conversion (DCC) at local gas stations and lodges to avoid a 3-7% fee. Always choose to pay in USD on foreign cards for the best rate.
- About 90% of Mendocino Coast accommodations do not have air conditioning. Summer temperatures average 58-72°F (14-22°C); verify that a fan or heater is provided if you require temperature control.
- Up to 70% of rentals with septic systems may limit showers to under 10 minutes or restrict laundry to protect the drainfield. Clarify water use policies at check-in, especially for longer stays or family groups.
- A car is recommended since Mendocino lacks public transit. The Mendocino Transit Authority shuttle ($15 one-way) is available from Hopland Amtrak arrivals; reserve in advance if you will rely on this service.
- Power outages from PG&E public safety shutoffs lasted 12-72 hours in 40% of the coastal area during 2023-2024. Ask if your accommodation uses backup generators or batteries to maintain comfort and accessibility during outages.
- Avoid $3.00 or higher ATM fees at national banks like Bank of America or Wells Fargo by using surcharge-free ATMs from Mendocino County FCU and Redwood Coast FCU in Fort Bragg and Ukiah.
