- I liked the staff they were helpful, and friendly, the building was really nice with the old historic look to it.
- Great hotel. Staff were very nice and helpful. Room was perfect.
- Family owned and run. Always take care at breakfast and to inform you of the area. WiFi is great. Restaurant by the property is good value. Streets around the hotel are quiet and by a church and school. About 1/2 a mile from old town and great walk over the bridge to the steep Philosophers Walk.
Cons -
- I was not happy about having to pay for breakfast without prior knowledge that it was not included.
- The hotel is old and had no air conditioning or elevator but that did not really bother us. Within easy walking distance the only restaurant option was the bar associated with the hotel. After 9 pm there was no food there, not even prepackaged snacks. The restaurant was very busy and since we only wanted dessert they refused to serve us.
- lack of elevator, but they said that

Nice central location, friendly check-in procedure with helpful information about the city. Nice room. We didn't have breakfast.
Manager was great! Room was clean.Breakfast was reasonable and adequate.

unique quirky krocodil theme. Good breakfast. Giid restaurant downstairs.

Good value. Clean. Quiet neighborhood. Great staff
Great communication. Easy parking - arranged at the time of booking. Great reception. The room was fabulous. Very large. Clean. Beds and pillows super comfortable. Easy walk to everywhere. Just a great place to stay.
The rooms was basic but good size. Gold wifi. The brekfast was simple but tasty. No possibility to have an espresso.
Tiny bathroom. No aircon, the room was quite warm (in April). No lift.
This is a shining example of all that is good about German hospitality and family-style comfort. Generous rooms, wonderful breakfast, family-owned and operated. Full disclosure: I am Austrian so I am naturally at home with this type of small-scale hotel. Everything there feels "genuine", nothing like out the typical catalogue for hotel equipment like so many anonymous much bigger places, even if they sport more stars in their official categorization. But if you want to experience how it is to travel and "be" in Germany, than this is a place to go. Think of visiting a Ryokan in Japan.
Lovely, quiet, rooms. Great shower in bathroom. Very good location.
Everything was good and the staff were really helpful and very patient whenever I tried to speak German !
The breakfast was great and the staff was very friendly. A very nice hotel close to the train station.
Wifi disconnects frequently and I had to rely on my mobile phone.
I like small hotels, and Hotel (Restaurant) Krokodile is not an exception. In walking distance to the interesting parts of town, with a good supermarket about 80 meters away, and a restaurant below, you can't go wrong with this great-value hotel. But what you also get in small hotels, is personal attention, and the friendliness of the entire staff at the Krokodil made my stay a pleasure. The room, while spartan, was great. Quiet, good mattress, plenty of hot shower water.I would recommend this place any day over the more fancy chain-hotels.
Breakfast was ok (what's wrong with rolls, cheese and ham, cornflakes, good coffee?) but nothing out of the ordinary - and exactly the same in all three days I stayed there.Like many other budget hotels in Germany, I regret the lack of coffee-making equipment in the room. Parking is a major PITA - ask the reception for a street-parking ticket, and pray for an empty spot, or splurge on a nearby garage.Oh: no elevator, so be ready to carry your stuff up a few floors. Good for your health.
I like the location in relation to the main station and the altstadt. Helpful staff. Relaxed neighborhood. A few good restaurants and a close grocery store.
Very helpful staff and good breakfast. The bed was comfortable. Trams were available a few minutes away.'Garden' view was actually 'street', same as last year. The green hotel sign was very helpful as I arrived in darkness.
Towels were a bit old.
the outside terrace is nice and a pleasant place to relax. The food served is as good as breakfast in the morning.
The room did not have airco, but a fan instead. Sleeping with open windows was possible, as it is not very noise at the street. The vacuum cleaner could be used a bit better, also in corners of the room.
Large clean room with a few facilities. Excellent shower and comfy beds. Cosy breakfast room. Nice location. Friendly staff.
Having to pay for parking. The hotel is on the first floor of the building with no lift. Had to carry our heavy luggage up 2 flights of stairs. Not suitable for people with mobility issues. Room a little warm with no air-con, only a fan.
The restaurant downstairs is excellent
Only thing I would say against it is that the room desperately needed a fan, or air conditioning. It was too hot
Nice small scale hotel in a great quiet neighborhood with good vibes (many good bars and restaurants for brunch etc). Easy walking distance to Altstadt and buses/tram. People are extremely friendly. The restaurant in the same building has good vegetarian food.
Nothing- if you accept that you have to pay for parking in a close-by (non-public) garage (13€50 per day).Small proposal: a tea kettle in the room would be nice.
We were lucky to get a room as there was a European football tournament in the area.
Even though we were given a free ticket for use to get free parking, there was only street parking and we were lucky to get a spot. But the location was ideal for what we needed. Wish there had been an elevator to get to our room, but manager helped carry our luggage.
