Good location in downtown SD. Clean and spacious room. Descent gym. Breakfast options were OK, but service was a bit slow some days.

The property was nice great place to stay, especially if you’re trying to do things in the downtown area and great walking distance too. Overall the room was comfy. The beds were great. The bathroom was clean
For the room that we stayed in I wish the price was a bit lesser than we paid for. We stayed in a room 401 with no window view just mostly air conditioning and vents. For the price that we paid I wish we would’ve had a nice view or a balcony

Cute hotel, friendly front desk. Rooftop pool and deck. Quiet room, lots of natural light and comfy bed.
The rooftop deck and pool area were empty, but full of dirty towels, dishes, etc. Nice swim, but the property wasn’t attended to and killed the vibe. Dining credit was nice, but I waited 15 minutes to be seated in the restaurant for dinner. Was only helped after I asked the bartender if the restaurant was still open - he was tending the bar and dining. Service felt very reluctant and awkward. My meal came out incorrectly prepared, but I was asked to close out my check immediately. Just an uncomfortable experience overall.

Everything was just exceptional. It’s modern, really well furnished, stylish, relaxing. Staff were lovely throughout. Rooms spacious and bright. Great pool and gym and entertainment options. Incredibly well connected for public transport and close to Balboa park. Good breakfast and coffee. Honestly surpassed my expectations!
Hair dryers not strong enough for thick hair - newer, stronger ones would be appreciated

We stayed here last year and liked the hotel. It was a Kimpton then. The suite was large and well appointed. The bathroom(s) were great. Vouchers for wine daily were a great touch. And much appreciated. Front staff were helpful and engaging.
1. Housekeeping did not service the room on day four (4). 2. Trash was not emptied daily. 3. We called to housekeeping to get clean towels & help with the trash.

Location was good, near plenty of restaurants, local attractions, and amenities like drugstore (CVS). Staff, including front desk and restaurant were very friendly and helpful. Hotel amenities, including gym, pool, and onsite restaurant were also good.
The room, while nice, prioritized form over function. Examples of possible improvements: 1) Install two queen beds instead of two double beds. We traveled with 2 adults and one child (teen). Doubles are small for two adults and the room had sufficient space for queens; 2) Install nightstands next to beds instead of small floating shelves that don’t hold much of anything; 3) add additional seating and storage throughout room: we were provided with one very small round table (which was mostly taken up hotel desk phone) and one chair, but had two narrow “window seats” and one small bench. Space could have been better utilized and included small sofa or other seating; 4) Install European function that holds your room key in slot near front door which universally turns on all lights. Lights were sparse throughout hotel room and dark wood floors and long hallway made maneuvering at dusk and dark difficult. Additionally the lights were on different circuits so you could inadvertently turn off light that had corresponding wall switch. In short, add more (recessed) lighting and have all lighting turn on and off via room key; 5) Shower pressure was great, but add full shower door for privacy. The half shower door did not allow others to use bathroom/toilet while person was in shower because half door only provided partial coverage. Also if someone was showering with the bathroom door open, if someone was at front door, they could see person in shower thanks to mirror reflection near front door.

Great location for downtown and close to restaurants and night life. Helpful staff that offered us an alternative to breakfast which we had to miss due to other plans.
The booking included a complementary glass of wine which was a nice idea, although they didn’t want to serve it in a wine glass! Instead wanted to serve it in a small tumbler glass. Fix this and the whole stay would have been a faultless.
