Aloft by Marriott Birmingham Soho Square

Great location.

Everything else- dirty, poorly maintained, parking fee. Avoid this one, the poor reviews are 100% accurate. I figured how bad could an Aloft in a great location be? It was that bad…

Staff was great.

Included breakfast was a joke; worse than roadside motel. Only had day old plain donuts.

it's a dorm room, no amenities at all compared to other hotels local to Birmingham for the price. I'll not be staying here for the price going forward. little to no parking. hard to locate with gps. surprised it was a marriot.

Dirty carpet, room not set for dog, no convenient place to walk pets and dispose of their waste

The location is great and parking is so easy and convenient.

Guy at front desk who said he wouldn¿t stay there either. Lou¿s construction no restaurant or pool both under construction.

The way they advertised amenities that didn¿t exist. Parking cost, pool is indoor and was closed, and no restaurant at time we were there. Did not stay but of course got charged.

the location was good but the Waze map to get there was off. you need to fix that.

I arrived at night and couldn't get into the lobby. There was no obvious front door nor signage designating the entrance to the lobby. Cold and scared, I called the hotel and asked where the front door was and how to get in. Only 1 person working front d

My only complaint was the mattresses were not comfortable at all and the sheets had a VERY strong bleach smell. Both made it hard to sleep. Everything else about the hotel was wonderful.

Location is great!! Staff were excellent! Valet parking. Complimentary bar drink with room.

Room had a few issues. Phone battery made a noise off and on all during the night. Sparse linens as well as poor location of vanity outlet for access. Room was also very dark with not enough lighting especially in bathroom.

The modern feel

It is conveniently located in Homewood. (Not Birmingham). Other than that, it is an average hotel.

The bathrooms are bad. The design is intended for the single business traveler, NOT couples, friends, siblings, etc. Lack of privacy when using facilities.

The location is especially convenient. Plus the attached parking at no charge is a big draw. Also the proximity of places to eat was even better than on previous visits.

The AC units in the rooms (same experience on previous stays) are very noisy and seem to run continuously regardless of the temperature setting.

I enjoyed the trendiness of the hotel, it gave it a modern feel

I don't think I tried the breakfast, however I don't think I had a menu to choose from.

The view of the lobby as my reservation was cancelled.

When arrived, we were told our room was one of 3 that were encountering "leaking" and they were unable to accommodate us.They reimbursed our fee and put us in downtown sheraton for free.Sheraton mentioned that they are always sending people to them. Hmm!?

Rooms were very spacious, clean, parking was convenient.
