Villas Sol Beach Resort

Trust and believe all the other reviews, the only good thing about this hotel is the location amd views, and I'll say it was clean too, apart from that do not expect anything more, rooms outdated, there is only ONE restaurant with mediocre food.

Staff are unpleasant and seem unhappy working there, apart from one lady who was in the bar on the left by the hotel swimming pool, she was very nice. The alcohol selection is below well, not sure what they call it, but don't drink it. Disgusting.

The location of the villa was perfect, ocean view close to swimming pools and restaurant

More activities for kids, only a few beach chairs at the beach for the resort, more variety for kids menu at the restaurant.

Staff were great. Meals were generally good, though leftovers used the next day caused me stomach problems one night/next day.

So large it was hard to get around without waiting for shuttles. Black out blinds were very dirty on outside/balcony side. Left overs used next day were bad sometimes.

When I finally got the room I requested 2 days after arrival, it looked like the pics on the website. The other 2 prior rooms did not (which is what lead me to requesting different rooms).

The guard at the gate made me speak my lousy Spanish to get me to practice. She had a great sense of humor and was very welcoming. We loved the shuttle to/from the beach-a better ride than any amusement park.

Sorry to say the food in the restaurant was not the best. Tuna was fishy, everything else was just okay.

The room view from the standard rooms was exceptional. Oceanviews from the balcony were amazing. The restaurant solarium was a great place to eat. Lovely setting and views. Overall the place is very nice and we have already discussed returning. All the staff were friendly to greet us and help with anything we needed. Having the team of drivers was great too. Never a long wait for the shuttle to take you around where you needed. I have stayed at both this resort and the attached Condovec resort and this location is top notch. The 20 min drive to the airport is great too. We are discussing our return and can't wait!

The standard king room needs better lighting in the room other than a few small bed frame lights. Had to use the TV and outdoor light to be able to see inside at night. The shower is very nice, but could use some grips for people who might have balance issues, like myself.

Dated facility - tough to get around (hilly landscape) and mediocre food. All inclusive package is nothing to write home about

The bigger resort area and the pools were nice with a wonderful view.

The room was dated, with chipped tiles, big holes in the wall, dirty headboards and in need of a lot of spackle and paint. Do not get the full menu package, the food was awful and like a very bad quality all inclusive. Undercooked rice and recycled food. Not worth it at all. There are plenty of places to eat near by.

The all inclusive allowed for us to relax around our activities. The property is so close to Playa Hermosa (just take the shuttle coming ~ every 10-15 minutes). The drinks were yummy and the views were stunning.

Our room was standard and simple. We had to ask to provide chairs on the balcony.

Villas Sol is in a wonderful location with a beautiful view. We appreciated the high level of security, the shuttle to the beach/hotel/front desk, the pool swim-up bar, the friendly activities staff, and the comfortable room we stayed in (with AC). The beach is beautiful and we even experienced bioluminescence at night!

The food at Villas Sol wasn't the best, which was disappointing. The drinks were good, but the actual food was subpar, and we had to check to make sure our meat (particularly chicken) was cooked all the way through. We were surprised to show up and find out that we needed to pay the full amount in person, even after our card had been charged. It all worked out, but taxes weren't included in our original price and we had to pay to check in early, plus the airport shuttle wasn't included, which I hadn't realized. A good amount of the staff wasn't particularly friendly, just barely acknowledged guests even when I spoke to them personably in Spanish.

This is a beautiful resort only twenty minutes from the Liberia airport. The staff was very accommodating. We had requested an oceanview room and were upgraded to a complete villa with a magnificent view from the large balcony.. The villa had a living room, full kitchen and dining area, bedroom and bath suite. The kitchen was fully equipped, perfect for longer stays. I had sustained an injury the day before arrival and had requested some bandages. Within five minutes, there was a knock at the door and a medical person showed up who cleaned and dressed my wound and refused a tip! Would not happen in the States. The beach was a long, steep walk from the property, but they had shuttles than ran folks down there every ten minutes or so. The beach had plenty trees at the edges to provide shade. There were also two pool areas, one with a swim up bar.

Not sure if this is a plus or a minus but this resort is built into a very steep hillside with many terraced levels. While this is very picturesque and provides great vistas, everything is too steep and far apart to walk to especially if you are in the villas. Therefore we needed to take a shuttle to the pool, the beach, the restaurant and the front desk. We were only there for two days but I can see that it could feel inconvenient for longer stays. Our biggest complaint though, was the restaurant which only offered buffet style meals. We had a dinner and breakfast there and thought the food was embarrassingly terrible. That is the reason, I took off one star. To sum it up, we would stay here again, but without the meal plan as there were plenty of better dining options nearby.

This is my 3rd time at the property. Noticed a decline on the quality of the food. Breakfast continues to be great, but lunch/dinner either buffet or a la carte was disappointing compared to experience in 2011 and 2020. Good thing that there are great restaurants in the area.

I encourage the staff and the manager to provide the most basic living conditions. Very regular depreciation of the room. Very bad conditions of the bathroom, you can't take a shower, a broken shower head, a broken sink, not to mention the hygienic conditions, we called the reception who cleaned our room. A miserable hotel, from the way of reception, food that is not fresh, very small, poor on the menu. A very bad location for swimming in the sea.

I liked that everything was in one place. The breakfast was fantastic, my family looked forward to every morning to get to the restaurant. They made sure my room was cleaned every day. While there, I requested extra things, and the people at the reception met my needs fast and cordially.

We went to Villa Sol during Semana Santa, and the people who oversaw the tours didn't work those days. We would have liked to have had a heads-up on that to make arrangements somewhere else. It would have been good to have physical maps of points of interest in the area.

I enjoyed its location and the surroundings of the property

Cars took forever to take back and for from room/beach/restaurant/beach. Parking slots were limited and dificult to find. Staff treated us like if they weren't getting paid for their work.

The view was amazing and the beach is great! Staff were really friendly!

The rooms need renewal. One night we were woken up by sounds coming from the ventilation in our room. Judging by the sounds, we think a raccoon and a rat were fighting in there.
