    Very Good

    Based on 131 reviews

    Pros +

    • Location! Was about an hour and some minutes from the airport which makes a secluded resort for beach access.
    • Large property that is private yet doesn¿t feel like a compound. Everything is well cared for and staff were terrific the entire stay.
    • The staff from the Buffet are VERY friendly! The food is very good. A lot of option to choose from. Pools are wide and spacious. Attractions and shows at the theatre are Awesome!

    Cons -

    • Room were fairly dated. For example- outlets and lighting were not easy access and universal
    • Limited evening entertainment, as explained by staff due to COVID.
    • Rude reception staff. They did not care about my family needs at all.I've been to this resort for the 4rth time in the last 2 years. And I will NOT be coming back.More than 3 problems arrised.(Their own fault) and they just didn't care to fix it.Disappoint

Everyone made us feel welcome. The grounds are immaculately groomed every day. The food was way better than we expected. The beach was beautiful. This is a place I want to come back to.

The facilities were amazing! The staff outside of the premier area were so helpful. The hotel was beautiful, the food. The pools and swim up bars a blast.

The premier receptionist was not helpful at all. She just processed the paperwork and that was all. We asked about dinner reservations for any of the restaurants and she told my e all booked, sorry we can't help. We paid for the experience for nothing. At this point we will not recommend.

I liked the location of the hotel, I feel like it is built around the inclusive idea as to not leave the hotel. Facilities were great, Booking got us an upgrade which I didn't expected and was quite a surprise, we got the premium room, treatment and we'd appreciated very much with my wife.

Hotel has no complimentary shuttle service (which by the distance, should have free of charge!). Food could be better, Mexican food served at the buffets is amazing, the rest of the food is just average.

Hands down, the staff made my trip wonderful. This was just an extra night extension to a full week, and the resort is amazing! Hammocks galore! Great buffet! Great infinity pool at the Riviera Maya. Many quaint areas to hang out in the non-adult only locations too! SUPER nice staff!!

the humidity, which you can't control

Room service did not exist, I called three times and they did not answer me. Really bad.

    8AlexPosted on: 5-6-2024

Everything was great! So clean and well maintained. Was very impressed with the food & beverage. We will be back in December, and Summer of 2026.

The property initially overcharged me over $300+ USD because Booking.com failed to update the property on a guest count change that was made months before arrival. It was quite the hassle trying to work with the staff to show them that the change in guest count was already made and a new balance was presented for us to pay. Finally on the third day, I believe a manager realized that yes, I was overcharged and they did fix it. Ultimately it was Booking.com’s fault. Everything else was perfect!

Big clean pools, big green territory. Spacious room. Beautiful sea.

Some staff in the restaurants was not too polite. And staff of the hotel is not too customer oriented.Food in the buffet restaurant was almost the same every day. There were issues with the a la cart restaurants availability. We had to replace our room keys many times during our stay at the hotel (didn't work).A lack of the beach chairs. A lot of rocks at the sea bottom on the beach.

    7JenniferPosted on: 4-21-2024

The beaches, the pools and poolside entertainment. The pool bar staff!

The food was great the first couple days, the buffet got OLD and my son and I both got pretty sick the last two days. (Definitely could just have been travelers diarrhea, though we took probiotics twice a day) and still came home sick. I didn’t like you don’t get an ala cárte nightly reservation. Staying for six nights only earned is 3 reservations… we will Blu enjoyed the food at the Hibachi! The Mexican restaurant was a total BUST! Oddly since we’re in Mexico! The Italian was “eh”.

The Maya Colonia is well maintained and has decent food. The beach has lost a lot of sand to erosion (you can see it from the tree line).

We were booked at the Maya Colonia, which is qualitatively a better hotel. Better rooms, better landscaping, nicer buffet area and a the best kids water slides. However, upon arrival, we were told that all rooms were occupied and for half of our stay (the first three nights), we were asked to move to Maya Beach, a sister property. We didn't have a choice and had to stay at Maya Beach. While as a guest at Maya Beach you can use the restaurants at Maya Colonial, it is good 20 minute walk which is hard to do with young kids. You can take the bus to go between hotels but it is a pain.

Amazing beach and pools. Proper grounds look good.

    * The food is really low quality. It’s such a shame to see so much variety in food, but everything is just made from cheap ingredients or prepared badly. All the meat is overcooked. The pasta sauce has a weird aftertaste. The sushi is made from the worst quality salmon. Extremely disappointing to see this carelessness both in the buffets and the restaurants.* The beds are tiny. We had a “premium” room for 2 adults + 2 kids, and we could barely fit.* The rooms are constantly humid. There is no way to ventilate the shower. As a result, our bags started developing mold and we were sweating all night, even with the AC on.* The sheets were not always clean. Sometimes we had sand in a freshly made bed, other times we had dirty sheets.* The staff is unhelpful, to say the least. They do not solve problems for you.

The large rooms, the staff, the beach with the coco palms, entertainment, the food, the many, many, many swimming pools. It is a reallly great property and you have access to so many places, pools and restaurants. If you like swimming, you have to go to this place. And I liked the hydro therapy in the spa, which we got free for 1 hour.

Nothing. Maybe that we only had 3 nights, which was too short.
