Spacious bathroom, big indoors pool that is good for sport swimming as well, sauna is great also. Excellent breakfast, you can freshly press orange juice for yourself - this is quite exceptional in this category, everything delicious and wide variety of food. In warmer wheather would be nice also to sit and eat outside on the terasse with a view. The buildings are new and modern, the modern style really well integrated in the castle walls.

Its a given for this property, so not really something I "did not like", but from our house where our room was located, need to walk up to the Schloss to the reception, restaurant or to the pool/spa, the house also has some stairs to the room (no elevator). No issue for me, and in return you get to stay in a Castle, with good views in our case, so not complaining at all, just mentioning because for elder people with difficulty to climb stairs / the road up the castle it may be a bit challenging, although probably also manageable if the room is in the ground floor.

I booked this hotel mainly to enjoy the wellness area, but it turned out to be a disappointing experience. The wellness facilities definitely need an upgrade. The room need an upgrade too and the bed was really not comfortable. Additionally, the economy rooms are located in a separate building quite far from the main complex, which can be inconvenient, especially when traveling alone and during periods of low occupancy.The reception staff was unprofessional; they failed to mention that parking was not free, which I only discovered at checkout. They also seemed inattentive to my requests. However, I would like to highlight the restaurant staff, who were friendly and very helpful.Overall, the value for the price is poor, and I would not recommend this hotel.

Rooms are clean, modern and equipped with all conveniences. The hotel is conveniently located to enable a visit to the town. Parking is on site.

I love coming back to Schloss Montabaur. The care that the staff have for hotel guests, top-notch, not crowded spa area, massages, thoughtful touches around the place, very tasty food are all highlights every time I stay there. We went there this time for our anniversary weekend and it was absolutely amazing!

Everything was great. Just keep in mind that there is some outdoor walking to do every time you want to go from your room to the restaurant, the reception or the spa area (they are each in a different building).

It’s a location for seminars. Simple rooms, a lot meeting rooms. If you realize this in advance it’s a good idea….

This is a beautiful hotel with a comfortable living area, in addition to the very comfortable bed. The location is an easy walk to town. We really enjoyed dinner the first night, when they had the small Christkindlemarkt outside - even the staff seemed to be having fun. Dinner the second night was not as good - there were not as many food selections and really it was very similar to what they had at breakfast.The staff is very helpful and accommodating.

The economy room is really poor. Small, the bed not really comfortable and the rooms are in a building that reminds of a hospital ward. No heater to make a tea in the room, I do not recommend the economy rooms...

Nice hotel with own history of the manor. Buffet for the dinner and breakfast were very tasty! Minibar prices are very good!

Have a toilet in the room with glass (partly tinted) walls and door is not so convenient. Coffee/tee availability could be in the room, not in the lobby!

We specifically booked this room because it had air- conditioning for allergy issues. The air- conditioning while on was creating dust particles in the room thus causing more problems with allergies. The restaurant for dinner was a cafeteria buffet style with only two entrees to choose from and where the guest was required to return dirty dishes to a conveyer belt. No ala cart menu was offered and the only table service was slow for alcoholic beverages. The hotel seemed geared toward basic corporate training groups.

The accommodation block is down a steep hill from the restaurant so consider this if you have mobility issues. A coffee machine in the room would have been good but there was a machine in the accommodation complex.

Exceptionally clean facilities, absolutely amazing spa/saunas/swimming pool area. Super tasty and fresh breakfast with vegan options. I loved the small considerate touches all over the place: umbrellas in every building, customer feedback screens everywhere, super cool lighting in the room.

The cheapest, basic room is in fact basic and a little cheap ;) but was exceptionally clean and had everything that was necessary. The walls in my building (Trier) were very thin, I was woken up at 7 am on Sat by room service working in the neighboring rooms despite wearing ear plugs. Staff were nice, apart from one lady who didn’t like that I came to have a swim at 9 pm (spa closes at 10 pm). There’s a lot of uphill walking and everything is in separate buildings, which was absolutely OK in the summer, but would be annoying in winter (and absolutely inaccessible for e.g. wheelchair users).

The food was great and very good value. The staff was very friendly.

It was quite loud. You could hear the 24/7 traffic of the nearby super highway and the train.The beds were not made, the room was not looked after during our stay.. When I asked why, I was told it was for sustainability reasons. I am not sure what that would have to do with sustainability.

Breakfast is good including vegan options (cheese, milk, alpro snacks). Arriving there is convinient with a car and it is in close proximity to the outlet. The hotel is new/renovated and the facilities are in great shape. The room was spacious and they arranged extra requests.

A car is a must, but the parking space is quite narrow. The breakfast and spa are at the top of the hill, which is inconvinient and slippery during rainy days. The swimming pool is nice, but the water is rather cold. There are pancakes for breakfast only on Sundays, and an omlette is possible for extra cost.

Staff were wonderful. Breakfast in the restaurant was excellent and, of course, so was the wine. Room was super comfortable with nice views. Two EV charging points for my car.

Only little downside was the service in the bar: not great as no staff was on duty for >20min. So this wasn't a great experience.

We especially enjoyed the amenities in the room as they added a touch of luxury to our stay. There was a complimentary coffee bar in the lobby of our hotel, an inexpensive minibar, robes for the spa, and plenty of towels. Breakfast was included in the cost of the stay and it was beautiful and very tasty. They even had fresh orange juice! The spa was very relaxing, clean, and spacious.

It is a generally beautiful location between the castle complex. The staff was very professional and the spa and pool were just what we were looking for. Breakfast was also very opulent. It never felt overcrowded. Next time I’d be keen to try the dinner buffet …

1. The walk between the hotel and spa is quite a trek, which was fine for us on a beautiful late summer weekend. Not great for mobility-limited people and during rain and snow. The rooms were quiet. You could only so slightly hear the Autobahn.2. The adjustible firmness of the spring beds in the room is nice in theory … but it was very hard to find the right firmness. It was either like sleeping in a hole or too hard and kept us up for a bit in the middle or the night.
