Rooms and staff were amazing

Website shows beach amenities Bar, beds, chairs open and available they were in fact not (kinda the reason you go to a beach resort yes?) Website also says room service Room service was also not available Pretty much they need to update site

The island itself was gorgeous - great snorkeling and the daily activities with the hotel were nice

T definitely did not meet expectations. There was no clear communication about anything going on for New Years (which is when we were there). no room service available. Bottled water is scarce. Food was average. No sandy beach and the ocean is far.

Each day there was a fun excursion that is included in the price! We went snorkeling to Columbia Reef, snorkeling at El Cielo where there were thousands of starfish, horseback riding, bike riding and sailing! Food was also delicious!

Should have brought some bug spray for the mosquitos.

Beautiful setting in the jungle, but have all access to amenities of the larger hotel in front. Staff was really great all around, always helpful, kind. They made the place look well cared for, and the guests well cared for. In high season, there were always chairs available by the pools, and at the restaurants. The buffet by the water has a nice setting, loved the breakfast there.

While the excursions we did were great, and the guides awesome, there was no choice on excursion, or advance notice (before checking in) of what is the schedule for your excursions. It makes it hard to plan an outside excursion if what you want to see is not being offered.

The room is quiet and privacy. The garden view outside the balcony is beautiful. There are little yellow belly birds come to the balcony every morning. The pool and restaurant are never crowded. The snorkeling tour guide was great. Good snorkeling around the beach area.

The room smells not good. The air conditioner of our room was a little loud. The only has the shower on the ceiling.

Everything at the resort was fantastic were wonderful staff, hard-working cheerful, helpful and super nice! We loved all of it!!

The hotel is not well maintained, the breakfast is very poor and includes coffee, orange juice and a small pastry only.

I did not receive a baby bed in either room we stayed at even though I specifically requested it. I had to ask multiple times and then the pack n play was a slightly broken. Facilities around explorean are very mosquitoe infested. They need fans and anti bug efforts. Also to welcome guests someone needs to explain facilities and the food better. It was confusing.

Variety of restuarants was very good. Food was mostly very good.

Did not use any of the excrusions included. They were of no interest to us and were too long (took up too much of the day)

We loved the property because of its natural look. You felt super submersed in the nature and wildlife. The staff was beyond amazing and helpful. We enjoyed all the food that the property had to offer in the all inclusive package along with the romantic dinner package. The activities were fun and honestly we are excited to rebook again. Claudia and Alfonso were amazing to us all weekend

We felt the resort was an excellent value! One of our main reasons for booking was that excursions were included & they did not disappoint!!! The rooms were comfortable and spacious. The outdoor sitting area, and scenery, add to the ambiance. The food was delicious in every outlet. We especially enjoyed the Asian and Ceviche restaurants at the Sister property, Fiesta Americana. The atmosphere at the Explorean pool was very relaxing & the attentiveness of the bartenders, especially Samuel, was 5 star!

Minor suggestions for improvement would be to re-tile the Explorean pool. there was some construction happening while we were there so perhaps it’s next. didn’t bother us, but seemed an issue for some guests. At time service was a little slow at the restaurants.

Very rude staff , they treat differently the national and international tursim, so watch out if you are a Mexican turist looking out to have a good time.We have a very awful experience with the Front Desk and Fiesta Americana staff

The room was nice and large and the tropical feel of the area was lovely. Luis our concierge was also awesome. The food in Lol Kan was ok, and the food up in the fiesta Americana restaurants was pretty good.

Everything felt run down and in disrepair. Letters missing from signs, the pool was missing tiles and the jacuzzi wasn’t warm, the shower felt a little grungy, and the service didn’t really do much. Also the buggy excursion was not good and a quite unsafe for me and my kids.

we loved the facilities. Great location, the beach (sunset!) was amazing and the water so blue and warm. Highly recommend snorkelling here. We stayed in the Explorean but could make use of all the facilities of the Fiesta Americana, which was really great. many sorts of food and restaurants.

The staff at the Explorean was quite different from the FA. the staff at our restaurant was AMAZING, but at check in mediocre at best. really weird check in procedure where the staff kept chatting amongst themselves and it took ages to be checked in because they were doing other things at the same time. at check out we were not-so-friendly reminded about tipping, which we are always happy to do and did throughout our stay, but the reminder at checkout felt odd and out of place.

The grounds, the pool, some hotel tour's, most of the staff. The food was generally good, the Mexican restaurant was great, the cevicheria as well. But all at fiesta americana, on the explorean side Fernanda was super friendly, nice and great at making cocktails, the rest of the restaurant staff, not so much, super slow service.Xhail was also nice and most of the tour guides where great, Julio was very nice as well.

Some details of my room, got there and had no water for a few hours, the mini-fridge was replanished daily, but broken, the air-con couldn't be really controlled from the room, always freezing, ended up turning it off after having to sleep with long sleeves the first 2 nights.But mostly and most importantly, the beach club at fiesta americana is closed! Booking should let people know about this before actually booking.

Great location, staff for the most part were friendly an helpful. A big thimbs up for our housekeeper who did a great job cleaning and leaving flowers and notes on our bed daily. The staff at the restaurant and bar area were great ?. We did one excursion because we have been to the island many times and are mre interested in diving but if you're new to the island they are something you should take advantage of. Even though the beach facilities are closed you can still use the beach area, I highly recommend the snorkeling going north towards the Money Bar. If you stay against the rocks and corrals by the shore you will see Moray eel's, puffer fish, damsel's, Stingrays and several other sea life I don't have room to mention. I even saw an Eagle ray out in a little deaper water that didn't seem to care that I was 8 feet above it as it scooped up the sand and fed.Having stayed at the Explorian in the past and comparing it to the present it has lost a lot of the things that brought me back to it. I probably will not return but that doesn't mean its not worth coming to, it's just not worth a return for me.

The beach facilities were closed. I talked with a few locals who said it was due to a dispute with the government about fees owed. It seems like the quality of every aspect of the resort has gone down hill since our last stay. The pool at the explorian needs a lot of work, it is supposed to be an infinity pool and needed about 8 more inches of water to be full so the pool wasn't filtering properly since there was no water flow over the edge. Another thing that annoyed me personally but maybe no big deal to anyone else was the security cameras everywhere and I mean everywhere. I probably wouldn't have noticed but while we were there I watched two additional cameras installed. Like I said probably only annoying to me.
