Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland-Downtown

Omelet bar and breakfast bar was great along with happy hour. Rooms were comfortable and roomy. Staff was helpful. The Christmas decorations were very festive.

I got a top floor room expecting nice views. The only view I had was the other side of the Embassy's other wing. This was the only low point of this stay.

Staff was courteous and kind. The continental breakfast had a nice variety of food options.

The bed was uncomfortable and the property said it offered parking but failed to mention it was strictly valet at an added cost. So we had to stick with parking on the street which was free up until a certain time earlier in the morning, requiring that we had to wake up and check out earlier.

Location. 20 minute walk to Moda Center. Good value for the location. Nice one bedroom suite.

The 2nd day I heard what sounded like a drip in the ceiling hitting the tub and there was a brown water accumulating in the tub so we asked to be moved. It's an old building. Location was good for us to walk to Moda Center but keep in mind this hotel is downtown. Many unhoused people in the neighborhood but that doesn't bother us. No issues with them.

It is my very first hotel in the USA, so I really do not know what to compare it with, but if we compare it to Europe, it is good, spacious rooms, a good breakfast, and comfortable beds. Downtown Portland is a questionable location, but I did not have any trouble there.Also, they had a little spa, well, this could be better, but since I did not even know about it was a cute bonus for me :)

This hotel is one of my favorites because it's in a great location, is a classically beautiful property, and has a relaxing vibe. My family and I stay here almost every time we come to Portland. Highly recommend.

I had a wonderful stay. The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. Great water pressure, comfy bed, and very clean. The check in staff was super friendly, the valet was helpful and always said hello, and the housekeeping staff was attentive and gave me extra creamer for my in room coffee when I asked.The breakfast was a wonderful way to start the day, I was pleasantly impressed with the selection. The pool was was a great way to wind down… a little small for full laps, but I was able to move around in it and it was the perfect temperature and the hot tub was amazing after long hikes.The location was perfect.. it was kind of in the middle of two downtowns.. a few blocks from the shopping and then a few blocks the other way fun nightlife.

The elevators could be very slow, especially during busy times like check in/out and peak breakfast. Once I realized, I would just pad my departure time by a few minutes so I wouldn’t be late. Not a huge problem but a bit of an annoyance.

The location was great. Evening reception and breakfast made me choose this hotel.

The room smelled a little like smoke. And the windows were unable to open

It’s a beautiful hotel and staff is super nice.

My only complaint is that it’s super easy for anyone to enter the building and go to the complementary breakfast. My family and I had a very disturbing and unfortunate incident with someone who wasn’t even staying at the hotel during breakfast.
