Hotel Lincoln - JDV by Hyatt - All Inclusive Reviews Rating
Good
Review summary
The hotel is praised for its excellent location, friendly and accommodating staff, and clean rooms with good sound isolation and comfortable beds in some cases. However, several reviews mention drawbacks such as small, compact rooms with an old smell, loud air conditioning, limited movie options, poor bed quality, high humidity, and inconsistent cleanliness. While the hotel features a nice decoration and basic amenities like a small gym and business center, it is viewed as a good value for its price range rather than a luxury option.

The thing I like about this hotel was the location and the attached restaurants/cafe. The entrance into the hotel was nice and characteristic. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Although the entrance was nice everything else I felt like was really dated and was questioning whether I would like to stay there or not. In the end I decided to remain for the night. At first I was put in a room that was right inbetween two elevators which in sense was not good (traveling with a dog). The room itself looked like I was staying at a motel which shocked me due to seeing how nice picture were online. I requested to move rooms and the guest service kindly moved my room and upgraded me to a nicer room however everything was very dated, and the bathroom I’m sure was clean but did not look clean. On the floor I was on, the hallway would smell like weed which did fade over time. The locks on the door were not sturdy and the door felt like it was cracked open most of the time (as well as there being a gap under the door). As a solo women traveler this did not make me feel safe. Also the elevators are very questionable, the doors would rattle and sometime the doors would open when still moving. Overall I believe that this hotel could have potential of being nice if things are updated and replaced.

Location is good. No other hotels in the near vicinity.
The staff gave me a handicapped room and did not tell me until I already checked in. I would not normally care but it did not have a regular shower and flooded the bathroom. I had to put towels down on the floor and wipe up water. 1 elevator not working

The location is fantastic. Responsive staff.
We have stayed at Hotel Lincoln many times in the past, but unfortunately, our stay this time was full of problems. We had to change rooms because the one we booked could not actually accommodate a 4 person family due to a renovation which neglected to provide a large enough sleeper sofa.(It was new, but large enough for.one.small child only). The room we moved to was a downgrade (not renovated, no lake view as initially booked) but had more room and the classic sleeper sofa. However, the room also had cold air blowing in through gaps around the wall mounted heaters. We needed to turn them off at night because they are so loud, but the trade off was a very cold room. We were also disappointed about several other small issues in the room such as the safe not working and empty tissue dispensers. As.compared to previous years, we noticed some neglect and oversights that should have been avoided. On the upside, the staff did their best to find new room options during a busy holiday period, and were responsive to requests.

Location is excellent and potential of the hotel is high. Nice linens, but everything else pretty worn.
Phone in room didn’t work. Light out in bathroom. Dirty, worn carpet and hall walls. Sketchy small interior elevator.

I love this hotel. As a former Chicagoan this hotel hits all the right marks with its restaurant, bar, coffee call and overall decor. The staff was friendly and helpful. My “go to” hotel in Chicago.

Location, location, location! Great walkable neighborhood. Friendly and accommodating staff. The main area of the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The rooftop bar was nice. The attached restaurant, Americano, was fantastic!
Listing my room as a "Lake View" room was a bit of a stretch considering that I could barely see the lake by the angle of the room. My view was mostly of the school building across the street. A dirty washcloth was left on the shower head from the previous guest. The shampoo and conditioner hadn't been restocked before my check in. The coffee cup for the in-room Keurig coffee maker was too tall for the machine. A large dirty laundry cart was parked in front of the elevator doors and remained there the entire time during my 2 night stay.

The location of the hotel is excellent. Lincoln Park Zoo is across the street. We took our kids there every morning before we went to see the city. My wife and I walked to a second city performance one night and that was a 5 minute walk. We also walked with the kids to see the Blue Man Group at the Briar Street Theatre. My wife and I were very happy with the location of the hotel because we could easily walk to our destinations.
I thought the price was somewhat more than I wanted to pay. For the price I paid, I would expect a better bathroom that is more up to date and everything works properly.
