Clean, large room. Very nice shower.

Carpet statt tile, no Kaffee machine in the rooms.

We loved the view of the bay and walking on the boardwalk. The room was large, clean and the bed comfortable. We loved the location. Close to the city yet quieter and more relaxing.

A fantastic location, close to the city and nearby attractions without the hassle and bustle of a city location. The island location gives views of the marina and bay on all sides which was a feast for the eyes in the day and a light show in the evening. Our room was light and spacious and kept immaculately clean by the housekeeping team.

The hotel is popular with locals at the weekend due to its bar and restaurant but seemed quieter during the week days. The kitchenette was equipped with a microwave, hob and fridge freezer but was limited to cups, glasses and a small amount of cutlery. There was no crockery or cooking equipment for the kitchen to be used to its full potential.

We love the location of this place. Shelter Island is a relaxing oasis in the busiest of San Diego. We’ve stayed twice at Island Palms and would not hesitate to go back. The room we had this time was a corner king room with a view of the bay. Very comfortable bed, large TV and nice outdoor sitting space. We also ate breakfast twice at the restaurant on site and both times found it enjoyable.

The bathroom had a sliding door on it that was difficult to open and close because of an issue with the track. We did inform the front desk upon checking out and they said they would have someone look at it.

Our room is at first floor when we got in, I can feel humidity. I tried to ask higher floor, but I couldn’t get. The wash room’s door had problem which couldn’t close and fan was broken. Room’s blinds were broken too. Sound insulation is poor when some people talk, I can hear clearly.

We enjoyed our stay here. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, and the location was close to everything that we needed. We enjoyed sitting on our balcony, we had a beautiful view of the Shelter Island marina.

A little pricey but I think Comicon had a lot to do with it

Room was large and comfortable and the beds were good. We were "upgraded" to a room with a patio though it was on the first floor and only had a meager view of the planted wall. The pool and jacuzzi were quite nice (though crowded) and the pool patio had a fireplace, which made for a cozy ambience. Location was good and it was quiet at night. Also, the staff was helpful and pleasant.

An additional charge of $25 per day for parking was a bit of a surprise, though public parking was available nearby. Rooms are a bit dated in furnishings. Pools were pretty crowded and small for such a large property.
