About

If a "Stay aboard the Queen Mary for an experience unlike any other." is for you, board the Queen Mary Hotel for an experience unlike any other. Once a world-class ocean liner, the Queen Mary, now permanently stationed in Long Beach, offers a real glimpse into what transatlantic travel was like during the 30s, 40s and 50s. With its impressive history and tradition of excellence, the ship is more than just a place to rest one’s head. It’s also a place where you can take historic tours, see paranormal attractions, browse shops, relax on the spacious sun deck or enjoy fresh seafood at Chelsea Chowder House & Bar. Even in the rooms you’ll find an impressive history, rich tradition and old world elegance. The ship’s 346 original first-class staterooms and nine suites, adorned with rich wood paneling from all over the world, Art Deco built-ins and original artwork found on the ship during her heyday, all pay homage to a bygone era. Enjoy one of the last luxury ocean liners of its kind.

Pros +

  • Interesting and historic for a day visit
  • The historical experience
  • The historical ambience of the hotel and the kind and professional staff

Cons -

  • Too rough for us- we left. Not just historic feeling but very old conditions( no ac/heat, windows wouldn’t close, ancient bathroom) far from everything, I had a horrible headache from mold. We went to another hotel instead.
  • We visited like 15 years ago and you could explore all the different areas on the ship. Now you have to pay extra for tours to go into many rooms (areas) of the ship. For the cost, you’d think guests could explore everything and anywhere.
  • The only the issue I had was the mattress was too soft other than that it was an enjoyable stay.

Top Quotes:

"The historical aspect offered a fun and educational experience."

"Beautiful city views overlooking Long Beach Harbor from the porthole in our room."
