About
If a "Stay aboard the Queen Mary for an experience unlike any other." is for you, board the Queen Mary Hotel for an experience unlike any other. Once a world-class ocean liner, the Queen Mary, now permanently stationed in Long Beach, offers a real glimpse into what transatlantic travel was like during the 30s, 40s and 50s. With its impressive history and tradition of excellence, the ship is more than just a place to rest one’s head. It’s also a place where you can take historic tours, see paranormal attractions, browse shops, relax on the spacious sun deck or enjoy fresh seafood at Chelsea Chowder House & Bar. Even in the rooms you’ll find an impressive history, rich tradition and old world elegance. The ship’s 346 original first-class staterooms and nine suites, adorned with rich wood paneling from all over the world, Art Deco built-ins and original artwork found on the ship during her heyday, all pay homage to a bygone era. Enjoy one of the last luxury ocean liners of its kind.

Pros +
- Walking around and seeing the ship's decor and pictures
- The actual history of the property was very interesting. And it was very close to the cruise ship. So in that aspect, it was very convenient.
- Wonderful experience, glad they saved this American treasure!
Cons -
- Our beds were hard and lumpy
- I was disappointed that the rooms were not decorated as the photos show. The paint on the walls were too toned. You could tell they patched it up using different color paints. No artwork at all on the walls. Nothing in the room was decorated to show the era of the grand ship. The public areas in the hotel are very beautifully done and decorated. However, the outside deck has no benches at all to sit on as you’re walking around the deck and enjoying the views. And your choice of restaurants are very limited. There is nothing around the area within walking distance to get anything you have to Uber or taxi for everything..
- Overall great experience except for the restaurant/bar staff. Waiters, bar staff were cold and unfriendly. Made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. They all need a course in PR.

It was great being able to see so much of the history of the ship.
Coffee and tea facilities in the room would have been nice. Staff in some areas could be more attentive.
