Location, vibe, friendly staff
Location is terrific. You can walk to anything you want, and if you're genuinely a moderate walker, even the staff are pleasant trek. Plus, the hotel itself is the kind of place someone wanting to check out and unplug never has to leave.
We loved how laid back it was. It was quiet and had a small intimate feel unlike the typical hotel. We liked the location of the room and the privacy we felt that came with it.

The hallways are on the dark side. This is not sunny, bright California. But the rooms are the level of light you'd like... and it's never bothered me.
I didn't feel the room was that nice for the price. It said villa but it did not have a villa feel and def not for the money paid per night. I can get a very nice room, same size for less money.

Quiet, comfortable without being too fluffy. It has enough edge that you feel like you're in LA without being consumed by its superficiality. AND the staff is always lovely.

It was a little cold and damp, due I think to the weather being unseasonably cold.
