Lovely island. A lot has been done since I was there last. Still very friendly and welcoming.

Double charge from restaurant for breakfast 29/4/25. $142.33Rooms need upgrade with attention to detail.Cleaning not up to scratch and toilet scale build up disgusting. The toilet facility near restaurants is unhygienic. Basin clogs up. Scale build up in toilet. Doors filthy. Upgrade toilet seats would be a good start.

GKI Hideaway is a favourite of mine and has been for years, bringing many people over for day trips and overnighters. This trip was really shameful.

Reception staff were really unhelpful across the board. Had a bag misplaced and their lack of interest / care was stressful. Didn’t ask for my number or name or anything. I had to follow up twice, ring the ferry company to query and then just stand nearby, as the only response from staff was ‘we’ll check with maintenance and see what we can do’. Had us staying right at the end of the palms which has make shift green shanty style rooms for staff, window overlooked these. Behind this was more staff facilities. Shouldn’t have guests staying in this particular spot. It felt very traveller hostel vibes, but without the beauty, cheapness and fun that hostels offer. Ran out of things but didn’t tell anyone so ordering was rubbish. Staff were under the pump with obvious poor management of staffing and stock requirements for such a busy period.

Staff was super welcoming and warm. I did miss a gym but a few rocks did the job for a workout with a dream view.

Nothing too fancy, island vibe to the fullest. Happy hour drinks were great !!.

The bed is way to hard. Another blanket ( doona) would have made it more comfortable.

Location was great - right on the beach front

Extremely unkept. The whole property lacks maintenance and is very run down. The room was not clean and even the dishes were dirty and I had to wash before use. Fridge hadn’t even been wiped out. The whole property was very dirty and old and needs a lot of TLC to be enjoyable to stay. I won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend staying to anyone. The beach is worth a day trip but don’t stay overnight.

Great location and the food is excellent, there is live music on the weekends and it was a perfect way to end the day after a hard day on the beach.

Wifi wasn’t available in the rooms , but it is a perfect way to detach from the world and work.

Wonderful place. Beautiful location, nice and clean apartments, really good restaurant.

Rooms are pretty nice and modern but could see some wear and age in some spots, like rusty shower head for example. Keep in mind salty water in taps.WiFi does not reach every apartment. Worked mainly in restaurant area.

They told us that there was a BBQ Meat Buffet $45 per head. It was all roast food, no bbq meats at all, the worse cheap horrible food I'd ever eaten, and what makes this even more horrible you couldn't order anything else on the menu. Hideaway is way over expensive. Never again

Putney Place Studio was clean & modern. Has air-con. It was also great to have a kitchenette. Close to lovely Putney Beach. All the staff were fantastic!

Bats or sugar gliders were quite noisy at night in the tree, but this can't be helped as you are staying amongst nature. The bed was reasonably comfortable but could be a little better.

Accommodation is to be able to access this beautiful island. Lovely meals. Accommodation was comfortable and offered everything we needed.

Some of the paths are trip hazards.

A remote island location with beaches and food and bar facilities is what I was looking. And this place hit those expectations.

One small piece of feedback, I noticed after reception closed the main bar/restaurant did have adequate first aid facilities. This was noticed when I need to help a friend with a small eye injury. Nothing major but I feel this should be looked at.

The island itself is great. Stunning beaches and within a short hike you can be fortunate and have a whole beach to yourself. The water was fantastic and is crystal clear. The restaurant is basic but has good food and superb views. The restaurant staff was very friendly.

We booked a cabin for 2 nights. Just a few days prior to arrival we were informed that each night would be in different cabins. None of that was mentioned at the time of the booking. I shared my discomfort with the staff prior to check-in and upon check-in but apologies were few and far between. In fact, their attitude came across as "not our problem but yours" which was disappointing. Upon changing cabins there was no support offered for the discomfort to move our luggage - keep in mind all of this disturbance while traveling with a 8-month old baby. Instead I was called by a staff member (name won't be mentioned) and told we need to move asap because the first cabin needed to be prepared for the next guests. This left a bitter taste and I would highly recommend the staff at reception take a leaf from the staff at the restaurant in terms of how to treat customers. Our cabin for the first night was run down (unit 201) with damaged furniture (dining table, fridge, etc.) which looked like it's taken a beating from guests. Our second cabin (unit 801) was similar in designer but were more modern and well maintained and it included a place to hang clothes which 201 didn't even have. We understand that we're not paying premium prices for the accommodation at this resort but you'd expect friendly and accommodating service regardless of where you take a break.

ordering food was an awkward and slow experience in peak time, mainly due to people being slow to pay with phones that dont work and not being prepared with their order before going to the desk
