Review summary
Reviews highlight the hotel's spacious rooms and comfortable beds, with many guests appreciating the quiet atmosphere and convenient location with free parking. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, contributing positively to the overall experience. However, cleanliness and maintenance issues—such as dirty bathrooms, mold, lack of amenities, and occasional elevator problems—are frequently noted, suggesting the property needs significant updates despite its reasonable pricing.

Location is excellent if you have business in the city but don’t want to stay downtown or are looking for a little more low key vibe. Free, secure parking was a PLUS.
everything is VERY basic. Do not expect ANY frills here. But you get what you pay for. It felt clean and safe and for the price you aren’t going to get that anywhere else.

The location. Free parking, with plenty of lights in the parking lot.
The building is in a really poor state. Moldy/flaking drywall around the tub/windows/doors, windows that don't open, elevators that don't work, stained carpets, stained furniture, water coming out from under a floor board into the hall (like A LOT), stained drapes, only had hot water one day and not the other, exterior doors never locked so never had to use key card like it said, etc. Then, you get basically two sheets and two pillows for a king size bed. The bed was awful. We got two towels, no hand towel and 1 washcloth. The other room we booked (4 adults, 2 rooms) got a hand towel and no washcloth. Neither room has a bath mat. One room had a jug (literal) of soap not in a dispenser and the other room had dispensers that were empty. One room got a bar soap, the other didn't. Same awful bed and two pillows. We ASKED for turndown service our second day, by putting the door hanger asking for it AND asking the housekeeper we saw in the hallway. It was never done, never given fresh towels or anything. The mini fridge didn't work in one room and the other room, the outlet it was plugged into didn't work. The stairwells were littered with strange trash. Pop cans just sitting on a step in the middle of the flight, cigarette butts, a couple shoes, a glass pipe, a hotel towel and then just trash. And, I know it's legal but it's still in a SMOKE FREE FACILITY, every hallway, the elevator and the stairwell all smelled like marijuana, BAD. We selected this hotel because of the location and the free on-sight parking. Thinking the worst was that elevators were sometimes down. But it was a miserable weekend and I wish we would have just spent more and paid for parking elsewhere. We didn't sleep, we couldn't shower both days, had headaches and were just miserable.

Great location and free parking! Rate was awesome. Overall, hotel was clean and nice. It wasn’t a 5-star, but for this price, I didn’t expect it. I LOVED the bathtub and the couch. I would definitely stay here again.
The metra is nearby. It only runs daytime… but it was kind of loud when we were out late and trying to sleep in.
