Everything is just perfect
The hotel is in a perfect location. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. The room was perfect for 3 people, spacious with a table, fridge, towel warmer and complementary beverages in the room. Beds were very comfortable
Can’t get more perfect location, right in the heart of the historic district, close to all, restaurant one of the finest in town, staff (shout out to Dennis, awesome dude!) was the best, only minor complaint would be the tiny bathroom and foul odor whenever flushing the toilet, but everything else was outstanding. Very traditional German style hotel and restaurant.

We enjoyed our stay at Hackteufel. The staff was freindly and helpful. The breakfast was very tasty and had everything we wanted. We had lunch and dinner at their restaurant. It was delicious. The location was around the corner from the Christmas market and the main shopping street. We highly recommend staying here.
Everything was great.
On vacation with family and friends, to enjoy the Weihnachtsmarket. This hotel had great location, was very comfortable, with attentive staff.
The location is perfect and the staff is friendly and very helpful worth the price.
Tv was too small
Location, property was large and comfortable
Sheets, pillows and comforter needs to be updated. My pillowcase had a hole.
Everything! The location, the amenities, food and staff. We had both dinner and breakfast in house and were quite happy with it. Hats off to Denis the all-around host who saw to our needs and answered our many questions.
Nice room and excellent location for a one night stay.
There was no onsite parking. There could have been a better description as to how to locate and acess the adjacent public parking garage. The public parking was, however, well located and the location provided great acess to the Heidlburg Castle.
Amazing location! Clean and quiet room.
The location was excellent. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The beds were comfortable. The room was spacious.
Great location in alt Stadt Heidelberg. Stored our bicycles during our stay and stored our luggage after check out. Interesting historical building. Good food in restaurant.
Hot water was not available due to a malfunction of the boiler.
Super German, super clean, and super staff says it all for this traveler in Heidelberg.
Area is in the middle of the action so just understand it is touristy.
My expectations were high based on previous reviews—and I was still thoroughly charmed by our stay at this lovely family-run hotel. There were three of us, but the room was more than spacious enough for us and all our luggage. I especially appreciated the entry room before the main sleeping area, where we could store jackets and shoes. It also housed the bathroom door, which meant nighttime bathroom trips didn’t disturb the rest of us—unlike other triple rooms we stayed in.The beds and bedding were extremely comfortable. I had been concerned about potential street noise, but was amazed at how completely the sound disappeared once the windows were closed. The AC kept the muggy nights perfectly comfortable. The room included a small refrigerator (tucked inside the desk cabinet) and thoughtful touches like complimentary wine, water, gummy bears, and earplugs. I’m a light sleeper and didn’t even need the earplugs! We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant—both meals were delicious and absolutely worth it. The hotel is right in the heart of the old town, with the Old Bridge visible from our window. The staff were a true delight—helpful, kind, and a pleasure to interact with throughout our stay.
Nothing. I wanted to move in.
It was right in the middle of everything- convenient and fun. The atmosphere was really fun. Very authentic German.
It was a little hard to find by car, once we located it we were given a map to a parking garage.
Loved everything about this hotel. Location, staff very friendly and helpful, great restaurant on site.
How short my stay had to be.
Small bathroom but great water pressure Great air conditioning Staff was superb
Location in aldstadt is perfect. The staff and the manager are so kind and helpful. Also the food for breakfast and dinner were delicious.
Nothing! Wonderful
The location is unbeatable. Extremely helpful and friendly staff and great food at the restaurant . Will definitely consider staying here again
Honestly, I can't really think of anything. If I had to nitpick, I would tell people that you may have to do a bag drag through the marktplatz from where you park if you arrive during a busy time like we did, but some of that should be expected if tying to stay downtown in a busy touristy German City.
