Interesting liner with a tour

There is no place to eat within walking distance. The breakfast was 20 euro even if all you wanted was coffee and a pastry

It was a unique experience. The ship has a lot of history. The room was bigger than I was expecting.

You couldn't open the windows (because it is a ship and the windows were portholes) so there was no way to get fresh air. The AC dripped a little onto the carpet, leaving a slightly musky smell. That said, it was during very strange weather.

food in the Lido restaurat leaves alot to be desired- limited variety of selections- the ship is open for tours but as a paying guest you have to buy a ticket to se more than the main deck and the promedade deck- at over $--- a nite- I wasnt happy

There seemed only to be a paid tour and not able to walk around and upto the top yourself .The food was too expensive to eat there

It was a real novelty to stay on the ship but beyond this it was a comfortable stay in a good location with a great breakfast.

Breakfast was good, nice selection of foods to choose from.The standard twin room was adequate for a couple of people to stay in.The tour of the boat was the highlight for us. We loved the decor.

The metro station could have better signs to explain how to get to the boat. We ended up walking late at night as we didn't realise we could have taken a bus.

Good location with restaurant and bar and parking.

The shower was clogged. I told the reception and nothing was done, which was really unpleasant to take a shower in these conditions. No alternative was proposed. I forgot 2 new Rituals shower gels and a Samsung charger in the room. I contacted them through Booking to inform them of the gels. They first told me that I could go pick up the gels but then they told me that they didn't find them (nice thieves in the company). I also called the reception afterwards to also inform of the charger, but all this for nothing. They charged for the parking twice and the receptionist told me that they would pay the money back on the card, and after 3 weeks I still have not received anything. That booking was then much more expensive than expected.

The magic of staying on a cruise ship of another era, seeing the fantastic rooms and touring the engines rooms.PS: The trip to NY was on video, the ship doesn't sail anymore :)

Everything was nice, but the Breakfast buffet was a bit underwhelming, ordinary.

It was very cute and quaint and the staff were very friendly

The checkout, there was some filing happening on the floor where the reception was located so we couldn’t get there, so just left through a different exit and called to advise

The location

We were given a room next to the door and woke up everytime someone came through. And no king size bed as requested and only small windows. So it was obviously the worst room possible on the ship. So far to expensive.

Good stay second time on the SS Rotterdam big cabins handy shuttle bus also the water taxis from ship to shore in town are fast and handy better than just a a hotel .

Don’t know was nice lots to see and do I like the speed boat taxis .

I came to Rotterdam for the sole purpose of visiting and staying aboard one of my all-time favourite liners, SS Rotterdam. I loved my interior cabin and appreciated all the original furnishings in the cabin.Breakfast was more than adequate and taking the ship tour the next morning was a huge highlight for me - the staff on duty really appreciated my love of their ship and took a lot of time to explain things to me.

Nothing not to like

Lovely experience, nice for a hotel with a difference. Food was great, service with a smile from check-in staff, bar staff and restaurant staff! Nice view from restaurant.

With arriving later in the day we didn’t get time to do the tour then got told off as we went up in the lift for a look around, got told off as we were not invited up there, an that we should have read the leaflet. No mention on the map that we shouldn’t look around. Was made to feel we were criminals being escorted back in the lift. Maybe more signs to say invite only or ticket holders or just let people look around.

some staff was not as friendly

A unique experience as most of the boat still has the original furniture and flair. Feels like a trip back in time. Loved the cabin (executive) and extremely friendly staff on board.

The location was great, beautiful views with quiet surroundings.

The bedroom was next to the door in the corridor. There was no soft close on it so made it very noisy, whenever anyone came through it. Avoid room 10002 as customer service told me there was nothing they could do.

Although the ship remains stunning in parts there was a lot of mess around and shoddy storage areas. So much more could be made of this classic ship, it’s quite isolated therefore more entertainment and more seating for dinner should be provided.
