Hotel employee at front desk is wonderful!! She is so sweet and helpful!

A raccoon approached us at the buffet table, beds were like rocks food was not too good ,birds flew down and grabbed food off the snack bar buffet

The food was a bit redundant same food. The specialty restaurant especially the sushi side had no character

Nice pool, good food, comfy bed

Didnt like that the pool volleyball and activities didn't happen. Didn't like not being served drinks at pool, or being able to even get a drink when I was wet at any bar.

The room was nice.

The hotel does not have an airport shuttle. The cost was $--- round trip. Also there was long black hair left all over the bath and shower.

The hotel did not have us on the computer, there was no manager on property and they made us wait one and a half hours for our room. We got there at 6pm they made us wait till 8pm. The food was terrible and the service was bad. I am so sorry I booked it.

Nothing particularly stands out as excellent. I would describe it as fine. If you want a resort to stay all day and be entertained, have great meals and drink, then this isn't the place for you. It's great to use as a base for day tours

The hotel is located on the outskirts of the town. You really need a car to get around. The road to the town is awful by the way. But then again, this somewhat off the beaten path location makes the hotel's beach very nice and quiet

I like me the greenery. The gardens were lavish and nicely kept. Oceans, the a la carte restaurant, offered delicious food and great ambiance.

The buffet food should be covered to keep the flies away..

The majority of the Staff were extremely friendly and knew us all by name. They would take the time to chit chat with us and joke around. The drinks were not watered down. There was an abundance of security and the Girls felt safe because of that.

we went on an excursion that left before breakfast was served one morning, the staff would not let us grab food that was out but still under cover nor would they let us take the bowls with us on the bus. plastic bowls . . . really???

I reported the phone not working on Monday to a young blond man @ the front desk and did nothing, went to a lady supervisor on Thursday & she fixed it right away

It's a beautiful location and the grounds are well kept.

My husband and I are in our 70's and they put us in a room on the third floor of a building with no elevator. Also, there wasn't much attention paid to the buffet-no spoons for the fruit, burnt toast sitting in front of the toaster oven, and the pancakes were just awful.

Unfortunately, our experience at this resort was disappointing. The drinks were weak and not enjoyable, and the food was just average. The cleanliness of the rooms was a major issue — some sheets and towels were dirty, and housekeeping was rarely available. We were given only two towels for three people and couldn’t get more, no matter how many times we asked.The rooms were humid and hot, with poor lighting, and the phones never worked. We also had to deal with spiders all over and even crabs inside the room (first-floor unit). Overall, the accommodations felt neglected and uncomfortable.The only slightly redeeming part was the activities — they were okay, but I’ve seen much better at other resorts. Definitely not the relaxing or enjoyable stay we hoped for.I wouldn’t go back to this resort

Location was very good . Access to the Beach was nice.

Food was terrible, we went to the downtown most days for the food.The rooms are outdated and there was bad odors. We carried room fresheners with us based on past reviews which helped with the smell.

We had a good stay at Occidental Tamarindo and it was a good value for the price we paid. The pool and beach access were fabulous. Staff was friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was great. Buffet had a good variety of choices.

We had a duplex room, and our room had a funky mildew smell right when you walked in, which was a little unpleasant. The other thing was that they used flat sheets instead of fitted sheets on the mattress, and by the morning, the flat sheet would be all shifted around with the mattress itself uncovered.

We felt 7pm was a bit late to start dinner. The beach was smaller than anticipated. The room could use some updating as usage and climate can take its toll.

Location, quiet beachfront with no vendors. Staff are very friendly.
