Peaceful, quiet location. Beautiful ocean views.

We stayed in Villa 2 . the views were just sooo good!! Had everything we needed even Room service to deliver food (we ordered pizza, chips and a cheese platter all fairly priced) )cause we were lazy to bring food to cook lol. Easy check in nice bed and showers would totally recommend this place for down time and just to getaway. Buffet breakfast was $35 had the basics and was actually nice not too overwhelming options. Parking right at the front of the villa too.

Lovely resort in a beautiful, peaceful setting. Super private and quiet, which was perfect for our family. Everything was really clean and well looked after. The buffet breakfast was great with plenty of options, and the scenery around the resort was stunning. Such a nice, easy place to stay with kids, we’d definitely come back.

Cultery very limited, all were dirty, lipstick marks on wine glasses, food grim / grease on plates. Pillows were worn out and sunk to the mattress, the mattress also appeared to be from circa 1973

It's a drive to get there from Auckland, but the view is spectacular! It's a Dark Sky, so you can get amazing photos of stars over the Tasman sea. The room was well appointed, and we watched the sunset during dinner at the restaurant.

It would be nice to have a sundries store on property to get things for the room. We were not prepared, and had to go to restaurant to get milk for coffee.

We stayed in a Villa. It was very large with a big bedroom and bath plus nice living room and full kitchen. The views of the ocean and beach were great. Beautiful setting.

The breakfast buffet was good . The dinner menu was limited, but the burgers were delicious.

Views, locations and general vibe of the place. The buffet breakfast is good and the food available for lunch and/or dinner is good too (they dont have tap beer though). Parking for the studios was good and there is a dedicated spot for the parking too.

The studio accommodation was really run down. We saw our ceiling eves falling apart with birds nesting in there. It was really unexpected and for the cost we paid, really disappointing. There were a lot of insects inside and outside the room which i guess could be expected but there was nothing in the room to help with it at all. Genuinely felt more comfortable sleeping at my own home.

This is a gorgeous property with outstanding views. It is quiet, private, and the facilities are far above the usual.

The menu at the restaurant was somewhat limited.

We loved our stay at Castaway . We booked it for a family group to attend a wedding nearby . What a beautiful place to spend with family for a special occasion. The scenery is amazing from every room . We had a storm one night it it was spectacular to watch from this view point . The restaurant was excellent , the rooms modern and spacious . Only thing we missed was a coffee machine in the rooms but the restaurant did offer excellent coffee .

Great location, loves the sound of the waves, and the place is confortable and cozy! Feels like home. Food is good and tasty! Staff is easy to talk to and the surrounding landscape is just WOW!

Wow! What a truly stunning location. The views from our chalet were breathtaking. The chalet itself felt large and we had everything we needed. Everything was lovely and clean. The option to have the beds split into 2 singles in each room, was very appreciated. The reception staff were incredibly polite and friendly. We really loved our stay.

It wasn't immediately clear that the drinks in the full size fridge were 'mini-bar'. I found a menu on the sideboard.....but it would have been a lot clearer if the sign was on the fridge itself. Luckily I stopped my kids before they opened anything haha.

Beautiful location overlooking the Tasman sea. The sunset was breathtaking. Quick drive to the beach. Good wifi connection. Restaurant on site. Large rooms + living area that is fully equipped with a full kitchen. There’s also a laundry machine with detergent provided.

Some of the furniture in the living room had large stains on them. The floor in the living area was a bit sticky.

View was nice, Villa was well spaced. New experience with the buggy going to and back from the Villa but can be inconvenient if can not be booked from reception.

This was most of my email to the resort last 18 April and we did not even get a reply from them until now:First of all, there was no internet access for the duration of our stay in our Villa. We were promised from the day we arrived that it was being fixed and till the day we left, there was no sign of wifi in our place. It was quite unusual because in the restaurant, there was wifi. It was very important for us to use the wifi while we stayed in your place for entertainment as well as work. Even your TVs were not useable because there was no wifi. This was really a let dow for us despite the view in our room.Also, the telephone line was not working, I had to use my personal phone just to contact reception which sometimes is hard to connect as well. In the evening of the 14th, we were calling the reception for more than 10x but no one answered. We were planning to have our anniversary dinner in the town but had to cancel it and was just lucky to contact the restaurant and just ordered dinner from there. We reportrd the problem on our phone and wifi after we had brunch on the 14th. Although someone came to check on it and just reset the phone. Unfortunately it did not solve the problem.Lastly, we were not informed or there was not even a signage that the drinks in the fridge were free. We only found out the next day when I talked with the receptionist that day.

The view is alright.

This place is an absolute disaster. The location is so remote there’s zero phone signal. The room’s Wi-Fi and TV were broken. We reported it to the front desk, the buggy driver, and even called repeatedly, but no one cared to fix it or even check. Requested ice from the restaurant multiple times—they said sure but never arrived. The “service” here is nonexistent. And don’t get me started on the filthy bedding and towels—stained and reeking of neglect. Disgusting! When we complained, they brushed us off with “the manager’s on vacation.” The manager later replied a lazy, copy-pasted email claiming they’d “address it.” Almost two weeks later? Nothing. No apology. No effort to make it right. Worst stay of my life. Save your money and sanity—run far away from this dump!

Room was not ready only 2 hours later, no cups or spoons in the room for making coffee, no soap in bathroom sink no pillow cases on pillow, had to wait for the transfer to the room could not contact reception

Views was beautiful

We had the worst check in experience, was supposed to check in at 3pm, could only go to accommodation at 4:45pm.The receptionist was extremely rude and did not give any explanation of why we could not check in. Not offering to let us know when chalet was ready.Eventually all guests that was waiting to check in was told that there is no pillow cases.We were also not given any compensation for the extreme late check in.When we eventually got to our chalet, there was still no pillow cases.Very disappointed!!

My Villa was perfect, stunning view and had everything you could ever need, fully equipped kitchen, beautiful fixtures and fittings, I loved it and all the staff were really friendly.

Check in was delayed by 90 minutes, restaurant was dirty and the food was cold, but there was a great selection of food, just a shame it wasn't even warm. There was a coffee plunger in the room but they told me they had run out of plunger coffee. There are no TV channels, so you need to log in to the apps on the TV, which would be difficult for people who don't subscribe to any streaming service. The buggy concept is a nice idea but in reality it's not great. I wonder where they got their 5 star rating from.
