Whitsunday Terraces Resort

View was stunning (out over the harbour and surrounding islands), and a good central location (easy to get to restaurants and other places). Room was adequate, with fridge, and microwave and iron/ironing board. Staff were very helpful, but reception only 8am-5pm (if they stayed that late, as it was in the off-season). Had air-conditioning but didn't need to turn it on.

Would have loved a face washer, a hair dryer, and a shower screen (rather than a shower curtain).

Location

They were not willing to cancel or provide 6 month credit when it was clear that a tropical cyclone was going to hit the location. Was instead only offered credit valid for 3 months. Also there was no power for a day and no back up power was provided. The room was really old as well

The only positive aspect of our stay was the restaurant located near the reception, which appears to be independent from the hotel itself.

Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing and did not match what was advertised.Firstly, the airport transfer was advertised as included; however, upon arrival we were informed that we had to pay $80. This was never clearly communicated beforehand and felt misleading.Secondly, the Wi-Fi was also advertised as included. When we arrived and contacted reception, the receptionist was very rude and informed us that Wi-Fi was only available in the reception and pool areas. We were also told that if we wanted to watch Netflix or use the internet in the apartment, we would need to use our own mobile data. This is not what was advertised and is unacceptable for a hotel in this price range.Cleanliness was another major issue:•The balcony of the apartment was dirty.•The pool near our room was also dirty.•The barbecue area we planned to use was in very poor condition, with dirt and animal feces near the barbecue, making it completely unusable.Additionally, we were required to pay a $100 bond, with the information that it would be refunded after housekeeping checked the room. Since check-out, we have not received the refund nor any communication regarding this.We were also instructed to remove all rubbish and wash all dishes before check-out, with the warning that a fine would be charged if this was not done. This felt unreasonable considering we had already paid a bond and were staying in serviced accommodation.Overall, this accommodation did not deliver what was promised, lacked cleanliness, and provided poor customer service. We would not stay here again and would not recommend it

Room was large. Nice view

Shabby, no table to sit, no cooking ability, location on steep hill, too many stairs, leaky faucets, not enough towels, restaurant not open, tub stained and needs renovation.

The accommodation is on a steep hill but luckily we were in the second block so it was bearable. The room itself was large and had plenty of room. The view from our balcony was amazing. Waking up to turquoise waters everyday. Kitchenette was useful. Large fridge was good too. Had a mid stay service which was appreciated. (stayed 7 nights) Shopping centre was very close as too the bars, restaurants, cafes, boutiques and the famous Airlie Hotel/Bar. All in walking distance. The marinas were close too. Saturday markets were good. Had great weather no need for air conditioner as of yet. Fan sufficed. Did a couple of bush walks all in walking distance. The pool is large enough. Had drinks at the Anchor bar which is attached to the resort. A lovely vibe.

The pillows were of poor quality. Was tempted to go and buy my own but would have been over my weight limit at airport. I was counting down at how many more sleeps. (sleepless nights) Even the spares in the cupboard were not good. Bed could be updated. No fly screens. Bitten by mosquitos. No WIFI in the room. TV stand too low had to use dining table. TV was too small.

These people will not refund money for reasons that are not my fault and out of my control. Whitsunday Terraces Resort is no good. My other Hotel refunded me, and all my other bookings at dive shops fully refunded me. Whitsunday Terraces Resort is VERY BAD BUSINESS ?

Good location

No enough supply of body wash and hair wash! It’s a pity this place only supply two small soap and two small tubes of hair wash. If they supply bottled body wash and hair wash like airbnb, it will be perfect. However for this reason I can not gave it very good review. People travel so far away, pay a lot of money, but the hotel supply only supply soap for showering. The manager should make some change to this!

View was great. Location good. Easy walk into town, a bit steep coming back, but noy too long.

No lift, access was up a very steep hill. There was limited car parking facilities

I liked everything.

Could have a big salad bowl in the kitchen.I eat salad every day, so it was a problem.The iron is never cleaned with proper products, it was very black underneath so it stained my shirt.

Right in the heart of Airlie with brilliant views of the water and the town. the room was very comfortable, if a little old, but everything worked well and we had no complaints. The pool and spa were a great bonus by the poolside bar. An easy walk to all that Airlie has to offer.

the neighbors were smoking on their balcony (and coughing and hacking) so it felt a bit intrusive and had to keep our door closed while they were smoking.

The Managers went above and beyond. The room and views were amazing. Large super comfortable bed, own lounge room with extra single beds, great kitchen. Balcony overlooking the Pool and the Ocean. I sat by the pool everyday. Great Happy Hour Bar times, excellent restaurant. Walking distance to everything you need.

The location is ideal because you can walk to the shops, beach or lagoon. Do your research though, it is up a steep hill so get ready to burn off some calories getting there and back.

The listing for this property is deceptive. You are not guaranteed the room that is in the photos, it is actually a lucky dip draw. They use the 'best' photos to attract attention but you might end up in an old tired on. Like others have mentioned the whole site is fairly dated. My room had a bathroom with mismatching tiles and styling that felt like you were on a retro adventure set in the 1980's including sun faded artwork on the walls.The WiFi is only available near reception/pool area, there isn't anything in the room/sThe structure of the building is quite old so you can easily hear walking, talking, TV, music playing in adjacent roomsIt serves the purpose of a place to sleep but that is about it really. Depending on the apartment you get allocated, your view might be good or great, it just depends. The listing on this site is generic, meaning, they use the best photos to show off the location but each apartment is different so you are not guaranteed to get the one you are seeing photos of. I also thought the road noise might be limited with the apartments being high up on the hill but I was wrong, you can hear every car driving past and it is relatively noisy during the day & eventually gets quiet after 9pm

Amazing location, big spacious room, beautiful view and the MOST amazing staff ever. They went above and beyond for me to get me a shuttle to the airport (my mistake not planning ahead) and had the most honest and comprehensive reviews of activity providers. I regret not meeting them before!

Great views. Resteraunt staff were lovely.

Bathroom was dirty, bed was uncomfortable, pool towels were an additional charge. Spa did not work. Receptionist was unfriendly. $100 charge to credit card on arrival.
