This 3-star hotel in Trier is a 10-minute walk from the River Moselle. It offers quiet rooms, free Wi-Fi and free parking. The Porta Nigra is a 20-minute walk away. All rooms at the Schroeders Stadtwaldhotel include satellite TV, a radio and a private bathroom. Some rooms feature flat-screen TVs. Regional food and wine is served in Schroeders Restaurant with its Mediterranean-style terrace. In warmer months, guests can enjoy barbecues and drinks in the traditional beer garden. The Fachhochschule bus stop is a 2-minute walk from the Stadtwaldhotel, and highway A64 is one mile away.

- The staff was very welcoming, the hotel is located in the woods and it gives a special atmosphere. There was a good breakfast. The room and the bathroom were spacious. Every day I had a new bottle of sparkling water. The hotel also sells its wine which was very nice. Nice views when you walk to the hotel (up the hill). Everywhere it is clean and well organized.

Cons -
- The hotel is located on the top of the cliff, so if you do not drive and do not like walking up the hill better find another accommodation. There is one bus 14 going there from Trier but it does not run on Saturdays and Sundays. If you walk it is around 30 min to the center of Trier and 45 min to the railway station. The pillow was really awful. There was no day curtain so you are a bit exposed.
- Hard to find and access No air conditioning in room (essential if you don't want to open window at night when insects are about)
