This is a charming clean hotel. The room was quiet and clean. The staff were very professional and you could tell they enjoyed their place of work. The hotel is aged well and all things were functioning. The rooms are quaint but impeccably cared for.

From a Motel 6 you expect a clean and efficient room and an easily accessible location, the Saanichton Motel 6 checked all the boxes in these areas for myself and cousin. What gave this Motel 6 a little extra was the happy and pleasant check-in staff!
Good price and near restaurant
We needed to be close to the airport for an early flight and it was. Also good for day tripping to Sidney

Two things made this a place we will try to stay at whenever in the area: 1. The view - tremendous and unbeatable 2. The staff - wonderfully welcoming Wonderful restaurant, too. Our only regret not making it a longer stay. Thanks!

This was probably the best hotel I've ever stayed at for the price/star-rating. It was eclectic. The staff was FANTASTIC. The rooms were fun (who can say that about a hotel). Each room had a different display and it was like stepping back in time
Conveniently located close to two large malls (including a Walmart), bus station close by with many scheduled stops directly to downtown and several restaurants nearby. The hotel restaurant is also very good.
Fun hotel with a funky 70s vibe. We loved "Granny's basement". It's nice that they had a pool table and a fun place to hang out. In the lobby I listened to some old vinyl on a turntable, and they had a lot of games, so we hung out and played games.

Nothing...it wasn't a hotel ...it was a motel and far from being the 3 star hotel as advertised.
It was clean.
Dirty room, air conditioning didn't work in either room; squeaky bed; coffee machine didn't work correctly; bar right next door to room, loud AND charged US dollars even though it is in Canada! Nothing good about this hotel. Do not stay there

This was billed as a two bedroom suite. It was more than that. Living room, dining and full kitchen down - Two bedroom plus full bathroom upstairs. Felt more like a townhouse. Good beer/drinks in the brewpub.

Top Tips
- Secure your hotel booking at least 4-6 weeks ahead for stays in June-August or during main events such as Victoria Day, since properties in the Inner Harbour and downtown regularly reach full occupancy in peak periods.
- Victoria International Airport (YYJ) sits 22 km (14 mi) north of downtown Victoria. Pre-arrange a shuttle, taxi, or confirm rideshare options, as direct transit averages 20-30 minutes, especially if arriving late or with mobility needs.
- Calculate your total hotel nightly cost by adding 5% federal GST plus local accommodations taxes (typically 3%) and any resort or parking fees. Compare full rates prior to booking for an accurate total.
- Standard hotel check-in starts from 15:00 and checkout is typically by 11:00. Ask your front desk about the amount and duration of any credit card hold for incidentals at Victoria hotels.
- Many heritage hotels in central Victoria lack central air conditioning. During June-September stays, verify your room has A/C or a fan to ensure comfort during unseasonably warm weather.
- Select your hotel location by trip focus. Choose Inner Harbour or downtown (within 600 m of the BC Legislature) for walking access to dining, or opt for Saanich if you prefer quieter surroundings within 12 km of YYJ.
- Onsite parking at many downtown hotels costs CA$18-30 per day. Confirm availability and daily rates before arrival, as nearby public parking fills up during busy periods.
- If traveling with pets, check ahead for size limits and extra fees - many Victoria hotels allow dogs under 18 kg (about 40 lb). Families should request connecting rooms or baby cribs in advance due to limited inventory.
- Review current guest comments for noise reports near the waterfront, cleanliness, and construction updates, especially during festival weeks, for details beyond star rating or chain branding.
- Maximize value by enrolling in your hotel's loyalty program. Select deals that offer free breakfast or parking, most commonly included with shoulder-season (October-May) packages.
- Use your hotel's concierge or front desk staff to reserve popular experiences like whale-watching, Butchart Gardens tours, or afternoon tea. Advance booking is advisable in July-August.
- Pack a waterproof jacket and slip-resistant footwear for travel outside summer. Victoria averages 83 mm (3.3 in) rain monthly from October to April, making city sidewalks and cobblestones slick.
- Follow Canadian tipping practices: 15-20% of your bill for restaurant service, CA$1-2 per bag for bell staff, and CA$3-7 per night for housekeeping. Tips are appreciated and are usually in local currency.
- Most Victoria hotels enforce quiet hours between 22:00 and 7:00 and prohibit indoor smoking, including cannabis, with fines for violations as posted. Check hotel signage or ask staff for policy details.
- Before arrival, verify the latest rideshare and taxi service availability at YYJ, as offerings change. Hotel shuttles and licensed taxis are the most consistent transport options to downtown.
