Nice place to stay
The breakfast was great. Even the coffee was good. The staff was friendly and helpful even when the electricity went out because of a storm in the area.
Not too far from where I wanted to go, but there's nothing around other the gas station and 3 spots to eat

There wasn¿t anything about this place we liked!!
It was cheap
We had to buy towel just so we could take cold showers. Cause there was no hot water. Our room wasn¿t even equipped with air conditioning. The hall my kids were on smelled like weed. Badly. Not a good experience!!!!!!

I found this expensive for an average hotel with a tiny pool/no hot tub, no juices for breakfast, and having to ask for necessary things like soap.

Top Tips
- Book Creekmore Inn & Suites at least 14 days in advance to save 18-22% compared to last-minute rates. Walk-in prices can increase by 30% during Route 66 festivals, so early booking helps you avoid surges. Sign up for hotel or booking platform alerts to stay informed about festival dates and best rates.
- Pay in US dollars at Stroud ATMs to avoid dynamic currency conversion fees of 4-7% common at pumps and retail stores. When prompted, select 'decline conversion' to keep your bank’s exchange rate. US cardholders using US-issued cards are typically not affected.
- Choose south-side motels such as Stroud Motel (202 S. 5th St) for quieter stays, as these locations report 25-30 dB less event noise than north-side properties during Route 66 events. Request a room away from event-facing sides for additional quiet.
- Confirm step-free access by phone before booking; only three of Stroud’s 12 lodgings (Hampton Inn, Creekmore Inn, Days Inn) publish accessible room availability. For features like roll-in showers, visual alarms, or other accessible features, advance calls are required at other properties.
- Use free Wi-Fi at Stroud Public Library (301 N 8th Ave), with speeds of 45-60 Mbps, which is faster than typical hotel Wi-Fi (12-18 Mbps). Check library opening hours before planning extended remote work or video calls.
- Skip bottled water, as Stroud’s municipal water meets EPA standards and refill stations are at the library and visitor center. Refilling reduces plastic waste and is safe for drinking. Bring a reusable bottle or ask your hotel’s front desk about refill options.
- Request a rear-facing room to reduce I-44 traffic noise; rear rooms average 42-45 dBA at night compared to 55-60 dBA in front-facing rooms. Mention noise sensitivity when booking to increase your chance of a quieter room.
- Expect a 5.5% municipal lodging tax plus Oklahoma’s 8.5% state sales tax. For example, a $100 room totals $114 before extra fees. Additional charges may apply for optional amenities or services.
- Tip housekeeping $15 to $25 per day in a marked envelope, as most Stroud hotels do not post tipping guidelines. Tipping increases the likelihood of daily room servicing. Local practices may vary, so guests can ask the front desk if unsure.
- Rates can spike 40-60% and availability is limited during Rock Café Route 66 Festival (May) and Pioneer Days (October). Book with a cancellation waiver if your stay overlaps these dates, and confirm event timing yearly as schedules may shift.
- For fastest medical access, use I-44 exit 164; Stroud Hospital is 2.3 miles from this exit, saving 8-12 minutes compared to other routes. Save the emergency number (911) and hospital address in your phone for quick access.
- Request allergy-friendly cleaning when booking; only Creekmore Inn and Hampton Inn document hypoallergenic protocols. Note specific sensitivities in your reservation. Confirm hypoallergenic amenities directly with your hotel on arrival to ensure your needs are met.
