For a place that just opened and is still a bit "under construction" it was pleasurable 6 day stay. Not too many amenities within the structure of the hotel, but it's growing and can't wait to see it completed the next time up.
My room had a nice view of the woods. Although that doesn’t seem like much it is when you live in the desert.

Breakfast better than expected
It was clean and it was very quiet. However, The breakfast area was too small with not enough room for a family to is and eat together and not much to choose from. When food ran out they didn¿t refill so if you didn¿t go early you didn¿t get much.

Size and comfort of the room, as well as the privacy.
The room was awesome! We were on a tight schedule, so didn't get to use the pools, but they looked great. Breakfast was nice, but I would have preferred make your own waffles to the toaster ones.

The customer service was awesome.
I liked the fireplace, although it¿s placement in the room made it so that the thermostat would malfunction and the other rooms were cold because it thought they were at the correct temp.
It was a family friendly experience with the indoor pool free breakfast! High locks on the door so very accommodating if you have little ones! The beds were very comfortable, lots of lighting in the room! The kitchen, it was a bonus!

Top Tips
- Book your hotel early for summer weekends, festival periods, and early fall, as suburban hotels fill up quickly. Early booking can save up to 15% during peak summer weekends, and most Plymouth hotels are within 10-20 minutes of major event venues. Choose refundable rates if plans may change.
- Compare mid-range chain hotels, which often include family suites and breakfast (e.g., Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Marriott), with suites or short-term rentals that offer kitchenettes for longer stays. Always verify that short-term rentals in Plymouth provide valid city permits and check their cancellation policy before booking.
- Check the total nightly price, including state and local lodging taxes of about 10-13% in Minnesota. Request the full pre-tax booking total from your chosen hotel before confirming to avoid surprises.
- Bring a government-issued photo ID and the credit card used for booking, as both are required at check-in. If using a debit card, some properties, such as Hilton Garden Inn or Residence Inn, may place a $50-$150 hold per stay; call the front desk to confirm their specific policy.
- Inquire about early check-in, late check-out, or baggage hold; Hilton and Marriott typically confirm these for loyalty members, subject to availability. If you need step-free baggage storage, request this before arrival to ensure accessibility.
- If arriving via Plymouth Municipal Airport (general aviation), coordinate ground transportation with the FBO, as there is no commercial terminal shuttle. Ride-share pickup spots may require a 2-4 minute walk from the FBO, and airport access is not wheelchair-accessible. Call ahead to coordinate assistance if needed.
- Prioritize proximity to your points of interest since Plymouth is spread out. For example, Arbor Lakes (shopping/dining), Elm Creek Park Reserve, or business parks near Hwy 169/I-494 are close by, and downtown Minneapolis is typically 20-35 minutes away by car, depending on traffic.
- Plan for limited public transit and rush-hour delays. Metro Transit buses serve Plymouth but are sometimes slow for suburban routes. If you need flexibility, rent a car or budget for taxis or rideshares, and avoid I-394/I-494 during 7-9 AM and 4-6 PM. Accessibility: Metro Mobility serves eligible riders with accessible transport when booked in advance.
- Verify parking options before arrival. Most Plymouth hotels offer free self-parking; SpringHill Suites and Home2Suites also have EV chargers. If traveling with a truck, trailer, or RV, confirm oversize vehicle and overnight parking policies in advance.
- Pack according to the season and layer clothing. Winters are cold with snow and ice, so bring warm layers, boots, and traction aids for walking outdoors. Major hotels provide complimentary ice scrapers and drying closets in winter; ask at check-in.
- Check room heating and cooling setup before arrival. Older suburban properties may offer only limited thermostat control, but newer hotels like Hampton Inn and Courtyard by Marriott have standard digital temperature controls. Request a room with appropriate heating or cooling if you are temperature-sensitive.
- Know Minnesota’s entry and health rules. Expect non-smoking rooms and properties, with cleaning fees added for violations. COVID-19 safety policies have mostly been relaxed, but check your hotel's current protocols before arrival if this is important to you.
- Use in-room safes for valuables and keep your car locked. Most hotels offer in-room safes and 24-hour front desk coverage; if you need ground-floor access for mobility, request a floor-level room.
- Confirm Wi-Fi speed and workspace availability if working. Hilton and Marriott hotels guarantee at least 50 Mbps Wi-Fi in business rooms—request verification if you plan video meetings. Accessible desks are available upon request.
- Look for family-friendly options such as indoor pools, complimentary breakfasts, and suites with kitchenettes. In summer, Residence Inn pools are typically open from 6 AM to 11 PM; ask the front desk about life vest availability or if you require step-free access to the pool.
- Ask about pet policies and fees before booking. Many Plymouth hotels are pet-friendly but may charge a fee and set size restrictions; reserve a designated pet room if traveling with an animal.
- Be clear and specific with staff—'Minnesota nice' applies. Ask for restaurant recommendations within a 2-mile radius to find locally owned options like Lucky's 13 Pub.
- Tip according to U.S. custom: bellhops or porters $15 per bag, housekeeping $15 per night (leave daily), and concierge or valet based on service provided.
- Request a quiet room if sensitive to noise. Hotels near Hwy 55 or County Road 6 (like Crowne Plaza) experience peak traffic from 6:30 to 8:30 AM; upper floors help minimize road sounds.
- Confirm smoking, vaping, and pet room designations at booking. If you have allergies, request a non-smoking, non-pet room; ask Homewood Suites or La Quinta about designated allergy-friendly rooms or recent deep cleaning if you are sensitive.
- Use your hotel as a base for local highlights. Explore Elm Creek Park Reserve, just 6 miles north (hiking, biking, winter trails), Medicine Lake for summer activities, or Arbor Lakes for dining. Hilton and Marriott concierges provide maps and a list of summer festivals.
- Try local restaurants and breweries—ask your hotel staff for recommendations. Rock Elm Tavern and Omni Brewing are both popular and within a 10-minute drive; staff can share info about current specials or brewery events.
- Solo travelers should choose hotels with 24-hour security and video-monitored parking, like Residence Inn or Hampton Inn, near main roads and dining. Let someone know if you plan to explore rural trails.
- Families can benefit from booking suites, free breakfast hotels, and locations near parks and pools. Most playgrounds at Elm Creek Park close at sunset; pack reflective clothing for evenings.
- Business travelers should book near Hwy 169/I-494 business parks for a shorter commute. Many hotels offer express check-out and weekday breakfasts starting at 6 AM—confirm at booking if you have early meetings.
