- The placement in town.
- Kofu is the perfect base for exploring this region, allowing side trips to Mt Fuji, Matsumoto and Shosenkyo Gorge (must visit!). Accommodation in this city was limited, but Danrokan ticked the boxes for us. A fairly short walk from Kofu Station, we were met by friendly and welcoming staff. The room was very spacious with plenty of charm. Regardless of age, room was clean and tidy and we loved our stay here.

- It felt old. There were also a lot of older guests.
- Surely built towards the end of the Shōwa Era, it would’ve been quite incredible in its time. However, these days it is very weathered e.g. plenty of west and tear. So if this bothers you, maybe look elsewhere, but no issue at all for us.
