    Pros +

    • Location and communal space
    • Location is very good. Nice common area. Nice and good number of bathrooms.
    • As it was low season we had the whole hostel for us. The kitchen had all the utensils and was very well equipped. The hostel was very warm!

    Cons -

    • Room too cramped¿too many people, no air circulation (very hot and stuffy¿no increased space for Covid) no place for luggage and as a result no place to even walk. Room was very noisy from bar nextdoor. Ok for a night (not Friday if you want sleep in #5
    • We reserved a 3 bed room and ended up in a 8+ bed dormitory. The beds were fine, but very expensive for a bed in the dormitory. It's not very clear but the only options in the hostel are beds in shared roo. Also required to bring or rent linens which were also surprisingly expensive.
    • Rooms are a bit cramped, facilities limited due to being fully booked in Sept. Seems a bit old and not the best maintained.

Budget hostel, location is great at the centre of the city, lots of food / supermarket options around. Good value for money as hotels are quite pricey due to limited availability.

Rooms are a bit cramped, facilities limited due to being fully booked in Sept. Seems a bit old and not the best maintained.

Good location, grocery store nearby, gotta take keys from the hotel. Small..ish dorms but good. Big kitchen and living space. Just bring your sleeping bag. Perfect place to stay to explore Isafjordur, pre or post Hornstrandir.

I can't comment much on the hostel as I was upgraded to the guesthouse in a very comfortable triple room with bathrooms down the hall and access to the hotel breakfast buffet. It was a perfectly restful stay.

Everything there I needed. Really nice location. Next to(-ish) a supermarket, restaurant, live music pub (probably just on the weekends). Large seating/living room/kitchen area. Met fun, interesting people. Overall, very nice and cozy.

The room was way to hot and hard to ventilate, especially during the night, since the blinds are blocking the open window, stopping the air from going in/out of the room. Woke up in the middle of the night while my roommate in the top bunk was reaching over, opening the blinds, trying to get some air/coolness into the room - making our room visible from the street. Also - bring earplugs, especially on the weekends, there is a pub next door with live music and lots of people partying into the night, walking by and going out for fresh air.

This is what you would expect of a hostel. It is low cost, has a kitchen, and full of fun and interesting people!

Beds are stacked up on each other, but that is to be expected from a hostel!

Nice and social space with a very good kitches, clean rooms and clean bathrooms!

Please have curtains that block the sun a little bit more (white ones don't work). It was difficult to sleep in summer with all day and all night sun...

clean, convenient, quiet, good bed, towel, excellent shower

wonderful little hostel with an amazing and eclectic group of folks staying there. clean, comfortable (but remember to bring a sleeping bag or you’ll be charged for a quilt).

    9TallyPosted on: 8-12-2022

Very new, very clean, very nicely designed. Only 4 person in a room. Everything as expected from a hostel.

The need to rent a blanket for a rediculesly high price, is the only reason I gave the hostel 9 rating rather than 10.

    8PaulPosted on: 8-9-2022

felt a bit like home, with nice livingroom, where i have meet nice people.

two nights the room was way to hot, but heating system in the room was turned off.

Hostel at a quiet place of a small walkable town. The hostel is not staffed and check in is at a nearby Hotel Isafjordur, but everything worked. The kitchen is equipped and the bathroom was ok.

    7VitorPosted on: 8-6-2022

It was good location - the actual place isn't that extense, but the hostel is located in nice convenient area close to all the main points of interest.

I think I got my room/hotel/hostel changed on the last day stay to the guesthouse, which came as a surprise, though that was not discussed with me..

    10GuðrúnPosted on: 8-4-2022

Super clean, modern facilities and excellent location. Quiet and good organization.

Maybe alert guests in the room that faces Húsið that there could be some noise/music on weekends. Other than that everything was super.

    6KathleenPosted on: 8-1-2022

Great location for exploring the town. Extremely helpful staff at the hotel reception.

Be warned that beds do not come with any sort of blanket. If you don't have your own, it will cost 2400 ISK to rent a duvet which you may not end up needing because the rooms are heated to the point of stuffiness.

    6TamsinPosted on: 8-1-2022

Very clean hostel. Easy check-in. Reasonable shared facilities

No bedding included. Stated coffee and coffee making facilities in room. But coffee not provided and facilities were shared. Noisy.

    9GuðrúnPosted on: 7-31-2022

clean, good beds, towel, pillow, excellent showers, quiet, everything

Nothing but it is always possible to do a little better

    8VitorPosted on: 7-19-2022

    I did not had breakfast

I can't complain - the place was nice and quiet, and once you are room sharing, it is not like I can pick my guests. I would still choose the place again!
